Food You'll Never Eat

Featured Replies

Yep. I can't eat any red meat or dairy products. I can have a little bit of cheese and that's it from a cow.

WOW, I'm not sure how long I personally could survive without Cow! I guess I could make it a day or two, then I would go into withdrawals and would either die or turn into a flesh eating zombie of some sort.

Tree nuts and peanuts are different. A lot of people who are allergic to one are also allergic to the other, but it is a totally seperate allergy.

My understanding is that one of the biggest concerns is cross contamination in places that package both kinds of nuts.

Yep - gotta check the packages closely. Many time you will see something along the lines of "packaged at a facility that also processes peanuts".

I like almost everything if it's prepared properly, and will try anything once. There are only a handful of things that I would never order again, either because they taste bad or have a awful texture.

Liver

mountain oysters - they taste like liver

Greens - mustard or collard

okra

vegamite

cooked cauliflower

pretty much any meat that comes in a can - Spam, potted meat, vienna sausages, etc

almonds - not because I don't like them, I love them, but I have developed an alergy to them

Or as my Greenup County-native wife always pronounces them...

... Vy-eenie weenies.

Not much. Only thing listed so far for me are escargot and Bull nuts. Other than that, I've had everything listed and would try them again.

Liver , its an organ that removes waste from the body , why would anyone eat it ?

Because it's very tasty.

There are things that I've tried but won't eat again because I didn't like it. Okra jumps to the top of the list.

I honestly can't think of anything that I wouldn't try. Escargot is probably at the top of that list currently. Would love to try it.

I love Liver, Brussel Sprouts, Asparagus

Snails rock! As long as they're not over cooked.

I see quite a few people saying they don't like okra but I actually don't mind it. Could be because it was constantly served in Fort Knox's mess hall though...

Absolutely love fried okra! Must be the southern girl in me.

I hate any type of condiment (except bbq sauce)

anything with mayonnaise in it so no potato salads

all salad dressings so no pasta salads

deer meat

liver

all beans

all Indian food

oysters

snails

Oysters on the half shell with a little horseradish and lemon juice and AWESOME.

I know several people who have had them and like them. When I've been someplace that serves them I can never get anyone to try with me and I'm to frugal to pay for them in case I don't like them.

Wow. I hate to hear that. I can't imagine my life without red meat and dairy products.

That is a tragedy...

You get used to it. It hit me in college. The only thing I miss is the occasional steak. I got sick off ice cream so many times, it doesn't appeal to me anymore. Everything ground beef I can substitute ground turkey.

I'm surprised that no one has said chitterlings

This would possibly be something I would have a problem with. I've never been in the same room with them but have heard that they aren't pleasant smelling. A bad smell could possibly keep me off of them.
