July 10, 201313 yr All joking aside, that umpire needs to be suspended. He was staring right at the plate, there is no way any competent person calls him out there. He was safe, but come on. It's bang bang.
July 10, 201313 yr Not that they are going to change it, but how can you sit there like a knot on a log and not argue the call? Get tossed, anything to try a spark... Totally agree.
July 10, 201313 yr Give me Arroyo over Homer and it's not even close.I won't argue that at all. Clyde might. Seriously, Cingrani is wrong handed, seems to have worked on his breaking stuff. He's just finished 7 with one 2 run blip.

July 10, 201313 yr Umps suck. I'm out of town and didn't get to see it. Did he manage to touch the plate? From the picture it looks like the angle at which he's moving would take him right by it but not necessarily let him touch it.

The ump just blew it.
July 10, 201313 yr From wikipedia on MLB replay: As part of the new collective bargaining agreement between MLB's owners and players union, and pending approval by the umpires union, two additional elements will be added to the replay rules. Instant Replay will expand to include fair and foul calls and balls that are caught, or trapped by the player catching the ball. It will also expand interference reviews beyond the home run boundary to all walls. If that is the rule, Robinson would still be out. I think replay should be allowed anytime it impacts whether a run scores.
