2016 Holmes PG Markel McClendon Highlights

Thread title lists PG - does he back-up Bolden or play SG?

Question? -- Is that a lane violation at 1:15 of the video? When can a player from off the lane move toward the bucket?

Stinkyboy asked the question I had. Will he and Bolden share the court?

Violation. Can't break the circle until ball hits rim or backboard.

Bolden and him start at the 1 and 2...both will bring the ball up and start the offense but Bolden is the "point guard." Very similar situation to him and Palmer last year. It really just depends on the situation and what the other team is trying to do defensively.

Needless to say, with that type of quickness and athlticism at both ends, Holmes' backcourt will be VERY GOOD.

The thing I've noticed most about his game is how good he is defensively. He is just so quick that he doesn't foul very often. Biggest weakness is his jumper but I know that's something he has been working on throughout the summer.

Good info, Walter. Thanks.

I look forward to seeing them play this upcoming season.

One big difference is he doesn't shoot nearly as well as Quan. I'd play off of him.

Nice to see him use both hands on those runners.

The good thing is he realizes his strength is attacking the rim, therefor he doesn't settle for too many 3's and draws a lot of fouls or gets easy baskets. (Which you see a lot of in the video)

Is this the young man that came from Holy Cross? If so, he was ruled ineligible by the KHSAA for the 13-14 school year. I believe Holmes is still fighting, but the judgement has been decided.

I thought he was a lefty until I saw him shooting free throws.

He is a lefty! Just can use both hands.

Wasn't he shooting free throws right handed?

That's fine. But it will make it easier to sag off and help on Bolden than it was with Quan sitting out there as a threat from deep.

Believe that when I see it.
