June 21, 201313 yr Author Will she have to sit out a year or will she be able to land an exemption? Any word on that? My guess is she sits a year.
June 21, 201313 yr She may be able to get a medical waiver if she goes to WVU. I believe you can get one if there is a family health issue, right? Without going into specifics, this might be a possibility.
June 21, 201313 yr Why is she deciding to leave Florida? I thought she had a pretty good 1st year with the Gators.

June 22, 201313 yr That's an impressive first season. I have never seen her play before. Is she WNBA material? I don't know enough about women's basketball at that level to say, but she is the most talented girls basketball player I have ever seen. I think she is 5' 11", very athletic and can handle the ball. I am curious what position she played at Florida - guard or forward?

Can a school permanently block a player from transferring? If Florida doesn't release her, does that mean she can never play for another BCS school on scholarship? What if she doesn't play on scholarship? No doubt her dad can pay the tuition if the scholarship is the problem. If scholarships are year to year agreements and a school can not renew a player's scholarship, it doesn't seem right that a player can not choose to accept a scholarship for the next year, sit out a year and then go wherever they choose. If schools can block players' permanently, I see a lawsuit in the making.
