That's an awful lot of NFL speed. I would be weary that all those times are accurate. Not saying those kids aren't fast but not many teams field that type of speed in HS.

 

Did you see Scott County play last year? They had about 6 kids with that kind of speed (4.5 - 4.7 40).

I did get to see them play and you are correct, they had a lot of speed, but there is a huge difference between 4.5 and 4.7, I'm definitely no expert, but my guess those speed merchants at Scott Co. were probably in the 4.6 range, and that is plenty fast for KY football.

I don't even believe electronic times any more. When I see a person run and other people can't catch him, I then believe he is fast.

 

I have been to more combines and camps then I care to count, and I have seen every way possible to time a 40. I have come to one conclusion: I don't care what you tell me your 40 time is.

Off the top of my head Iam sayin 4-6 most likely, 6-4 is a GREAT yr, and 3-7 a real possibility.

I would have to say 6-4 would be a big disappointment with all they have coming back from a team who won two playoff games last year.

I couldn't agree more, I have seen kids that weren't considered "fast" outrun everyone on a football field on many occasions, and conversely, I have seen some kids who were supposed to be burners run down. I think there is a definite difference between game speed and just running a 40.

If my WR was timed in the 40 at say 4.5 and the DB across from him was timed with a calendar, then guess who my game plan is built around.

If you have a WR that is a true 4.5 guy, I'd say it wouldn't matter what the DB was timed with. Unless the DB is one of the ten guys in the state that was sub 4.4 (tongue firmly in cheek).

IMO - SK will go 6-4, but will have to play well and stay injury free.
