Congrats to both teams for providing the MASSIVE crowd to a very entertaining game. :ylsuper: Good luck to the Pandas next week. Cougars have nothing to hang their heads about.

 

Huge crowd at this one has both bull pens were completely full, and plenty of folks around the outfield fences and on both sides of the stands. I agree with JMU, NKU is not "fan friendly" for watching a game.

Non-softball highlight of the day was watching Panda scale the scaffolding to get some pictures from up above.

Bottom of 5 hurt the Cougars IMO.

 

Sims doubles and Straley HBP, I would have bet my house that the next batter was bunting to move the runners, but she hits into 5-6FC. Quite a few of us in the crowd were all "baffled" by this. Next batter (Thompson) with a sac-bunt, but now you have 2-outs, next batter with a comebacker to Smith in the circle. Not many times Conner gets 2 on and no outs and they don't get at least one run.

 

Bottom of the 6th for the Cougars looked like they were going to make some noise, but score their final run of the game. Maines "bloop" single to right, Himes double to center (nice play by A. Meagher), 2nd & 3rd no out. Snelbaker up with 2 doubles to her credit for the game thus far, pops out to SS, Clark? pops out to SS, Sims HBP bases loaded, WP/PB sorces one and the inning ends with a PO4.

 

Cougars had their chances. Like Clyde said, Snelbaker is a name to remember.

 

I was talking about her before the season even started. She can get it done and is an even better young lady to be around.

Those scaffolds were excellent for getting shots. Completely unobstructed views. Great angles.

I was allowed for our first district game, then not for the 2nd citing "liability" issues.

After seeing some others climb up and down, I could see why the NKU folks were concerned.

 

It took several days, help from some key people, and signing a waiver to get permission to be up there for the region tournament.

Congrats to NDA! Best team all season and in the tourney. Best of luck in Owensboro, I am sure all of NKY will be rooting on you guys.

 

Wish I could have made the game but can't be in two places at once.

 

NDA scored I believe 8 runs in the tourney...I would think all but a couple were unearned. 9th region was crazy this year, pitching and defense matters.

NDA was undefeated against 9th region teams this year.
