How does getting embarressed help your program? You may have kids turning their pads in at half time. You consistently lose to a 2A program, how you think your gonna do against HHS, really? Is it "kahunas" or is it lickert doing dale a favor. I'm guessing dale promised not to run the score up, but you know he won't be able to resist.

I agree with what you said. I never understood why some schools schedule teams they know they will get crushed by when scheduling out of district games. It's one thing if you are using it to improve your team if that is the case, but more times than not all the team gets out of it is a beat down that demoralizes the players on the losing end.

 

I do understand that many are 2 year contracts with the other teams, but many times those contracts are agreed upon when the teams are actually good. I will use Ryle as an example. I don't know if Ryle had a 2 year contract with Colerain or not, but 2 years ago with Elliott they were pretty good because of Elliot and I am guessing that season is when Colerain was scheduled on a 2 year contract because there was no reason Ryle should of played Colerain last year unless it was the 2nd year of the contract already signed for the previous year. Ryle didn't gain anything by playing Colerain last year, it was pretty embarrassing to watch.

He's trying to take the program to the next level, what's wrong with that? You think he's going to duck them in fear of getting blown out? If your 2A school is so good and "consistently" beats our 6A school, then step up to the plate and play HHS. If half of our kids turn their pads in at halftime my guess is ALL your kids would turn theirs in at halftime.

Campbell County will be fine and I am sure they aren't being given credit for how much they have improved plus a couple nice additions. If you want to start a thread about the Highlands vs. Campbell County game that is 3+ months away then have at it but otherwise this has nothing to do with this thread.

I expect the Camels to have a great season this year. Numbers will be up due to the excitement that Coach Lickert has brought to the team as well as that nice new stadium and jumbotron. Good luck to the Camels, I'll be waiting for the first kid to hit me up for one of those football t-shirts.

I don't dislike CCHS football at all. You asked about what they need to do to be good in 13, KEEP their good players. Quit losing them to NCC or HHS. He'll, even Brossart.

 

Unfortunately, this year will be a long one for CCHS, they will take a step back. There is a good chance at a 1-9 season. Hell, first game of the year, Newport will be full strength, that could be a loss.

 

It's just all about expectations. If an NCC coach or HHS coach went 3-7 and 4-6? Or 5-5, not exactly sure of last years CCHS teams record. And lost in the 2nd round, there would be job vacancies.

If all your happy with is winning your district, then you have succeeded, but That's all you will ever be able to win football.

 

The worst state champ in 2A history? Gimme a break, sounds like sour grapes to me. If you want, I'll let you hold a state champ ring so you know what holding one feels like. Just because you caught NCC with 6 guys out due to injury and lucked out a win, you think that made your year. Heres the funny part, Your a 6A school, your supposed to win. Could have played that game 10 times, even with those kids out, cchs wins 3 of em, maybe.

 

Beating a good somerset team and a very good Caldwell county team in the playoffs was no easy feat. Both of those teams would have hammered CCHS last season.

Can't we all just get along? I said in another thread that CCHS is my suprise team this year. Hell, i would think everyone in this thread hopes that CCHS has a great season. That would send a message to teams all over the state the "Campbell

County" is a tough region for football with all of these schools being less than a couple of miles from one another. How cool would it be to have a 2, 4, and 6A champion in the same county, and have Beechwood and Cooper follow up with 1 and 5A championships.
