oldcat94
Birds had a sluggish first half, Tanner played really strong, Vories must have been in doghouse for something he didn't start and didn't really get going until 2nd half. BenG played a really good well tempered game, he let it come to him tonight. Had all cylinders been clicking from the start birds would've won by

Tiger1
Jeff Vories is no doubt one of the best ball players in the 9th region and he could possibly challenge Jefferson for the #1 guard in the region. This kid can shoot, dribble, pass, and moves well without the ball. Plus, he has the key ingredient in being a great player and that is basketball knowledge. NEERFAN
Scott seems to be struggling a bit lately, albeit against some stiff competition but sooner or later you have to win a game as the underdog.

They had it cut to 4 points midway through the 4th quarter. Vories is tough, that cross-over is lethal.
Tiger1
Scott seems to be struggling a bit lately, albeit against some stiff competition but sooner or later you have to win a game as the underdog. Scott looks like they have no legs left in them. Having a short bench is not helping them right now. These kids look like they need sometime off from basketball practice to get rejuvenated for the stretch run. It only gets worse with Pendleton County coming into Taylor Mill on Friday night. NEERFAN
That's not good but it's at home and that's positive. Maybe they'll get that second wind, I hate when a team peaks early.
Henry521
Congrats to the Birds. Sounds like a great game. What was the score at half? Just wondering what is meant by sluggish first half.
oldcat94
they scored 8 points, coach willie was shufflimg guys in and out to try and find the right combo, ben forced his first three shots, they were missing second and third ops at the basket, they just weren't in rythm, they didn't really hit their stride until about the 5 min mark of the 2nd quater. Tanner had a good first half and was really solid

Qryche11
Anyone know the scoring breakdown?? I just saw on the news that Vories had 20 pts.....19 2nd half points. There were 5 schools their scouting Vories as well. Not sure who but he is attracting attention. Next Tuesday's matchup with Holmes will be the game of the year. I hope he matches up with Jefferson. That will be a battle.
83birds
As was mentioned earlier, Vories and Simpson did not start the game. The substitutions had nothing to do with finding combinations IMO, rather they were done in an attempt to wear Scott out since they only play 6 players. Overall Highlands played very well. The Howard kid for Scott was a virtual nonfactor after the first 3 minutes of the game. As has been the case in most games that I have seen, there was no answer for Jeff Vories. Did see Bezold from NKU at this game. I would certainly hope that he is giving Vories a look.
