Mario Williams sues ex-fiancee for ring

Shouldn't have bought her a $785,000 ring.

When the promise is broken...

On Mike and Mike they were saying that some states consider an engagement ring a contractual agreement. When she broke off the engagement, she broke the contract and in those states it would need to be returned.

Others, like Montana, say that once you give the ring, its hers no matter what because it was a gift.

Jay Cutler did that.

I had forgot about him as well.

Attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents Marzouki, said that Williams, not Marzouki, broke off the engagement.

“Texas law says that if the man breaks off the engagement, the woman keeps the ring,” Buzbee said. “Mr. Williams experienced dramatic mood swings throughout the engagement. It was during one of his low points that he broke off the engagement for the last time this past December. It was only after Ms. Marzouki refused to take him back that he became angry and filed this frivolous case.

“He should have not filed a case out of anger. Ms. Marzouki will not be bullied. In the court system, no matter how rich you are, everyone is treated equally.”

Buzbee also released text messages from Williams to Marzouki, apparently to corroborate the contention of mood swings.

“I took 3 hydrocodones this morning and no one knows,” Williams allegedly said. “I’m going to take 2 more on the plane and fade away.” Williams also allegedly said: “No money in the world should leave me with suicidal thoughts.”

“I could really care less. I mean, all it is is allegations, text messages or what not, whatever information blown out of proportion. I mean it’s completely out of context,” Williams said of the released text messages, via WGR.

Williams says that when he mentioned “suicidal thoughts” in a text message, he was “just venting.” Asked about the suicides of Junior Seau and Jovan Belcher, Williams was quick to answer, “Dude, I’m nowhere near that position.”

Williams also said he only uses painkillers as directed by the team’s medical staff.

“Anything I take is 100 percent prescribed, given from here,” Williams said, referring to the doctors at the Bills’ facility.

Blown out of proportion or not, these are the kinds of embarrassing stories that tend to come out when people get involved in litigation with their exes. That’s why it’s wise to take it slowly with romantic relationships, and wiser still to buy a more sensible engagement ring, and save the $785,000 jewelry for the 50th anniversary.

Yep, Mario Williams shouldn’t have tangled with Tony Buzbee.

As we recently explained, the lawyer representing Erin Marzouki will unleash the time-honored “let’s see what we can f–k with next” approach while representing the former fiancée of the Bills defensive lineman. According to David Barron of the Houston Chronicle, Buzbee is now (insert bad word) with Williams’ liberty by asking a Houston judge to refer the matter to prosecutors for a potential criminal investigation.

To support his claim that Williams’ lied, Buzbee has released a new round of text messages from Williams to Marzouki regarding the $785,000 diamond ring for which Williams has sued.

“‘Keep those material things. It means nothing to me anymore,’” Williams allegedly said. “‘I said keep it’” and “‘KEEP IT! Remember me by it.’”

Buzbee argues that the text messages sufficiently conflict with the allegations in Williams’ lawsuit to make the statements perjury.

“Despite his fame and wealth, this court should not allow Williams to misuse the court system, or to avoid the ramifications of his conduct,” Buzbee explained in a court filing. “Williams is not above the law. He undeniably lied under oath.”

I would sure like to hear her side because the Williams side paints her as the ultimate gold digger. 338K in other expenses... And I bet that doesn't include anything he paid for when the two of them were together.

The more we hear about her side the more Williams appears to be an idiot of epic proportions.
