I think it's pretty pertinent to THIS thread when you are talking about making a decision to arrest and question someone without affording them all of their constitutional rights.

I said they have a right to defend themselves. I never once said they are not allowed ever to get a lawyer.

I guess what bothers me the most is when people like yourself come across thinking the rights of a terrorists is more important than the lives of the innocent people he killed.

 

Sad when terrorist get more sympathy than the victims. That is what it feels like when subjects of this sort are being argued.

 

Don't get me wrong, I know you don't feel more sympathy for the terrorist than the people who died, but it sounds like it sometimes when people tend to come running to the defense of the guilty sometimes.

No one is perfect 100% of the time but that doesn't mean we should get rid of the exception.

 

Would you want the police to have to wait outside your front door for a warrant if someone was breaking in your house and trying to kill you or your family?

That last sentence is pretty ironic if you are a Liberal who agrees with the President when he says it's ok to kill Americans with drone attacks if he thinks they are terrorist.

Agreed, on U.S. soil. I find it disturbing what Paul said last week, after his little "show" a few months back acting like he was concerned over drones going after U.S. citizens on U.S. soil. Now he has done a complete reversal. As I and others mentioned before, it's a very slippery slope not allowing a U.S. citizen their rights and due process. As CBDV hit on, if they can take rights away from one person, don't think that they won't eventual take them away from everyone else as well.

Very sleepy.

It still seems to me FBI didn't get 48hrs as promised or allowed, the guy can't talk when he is knocked out after surgery. Why would the DOJ allow a judge to do that, it had to be with their blessings since it is a high profile case and terrorism from a Muslim.

 

It is also good to discuss things with you too, gives me a different perspective and enlightens me to new things too. Thanks sports guy

I am all for individual rights but in cases of terrorism and/or national security I draw the line in the sand.

 

I don't know if that is a very good place, but it sure is a safer place.

 

If be were not an American citizen I'd agree. But he is a citizen so no matter how sick the act he is afforded the same rights we all receive as an American citizen.

He's guilty. I understand that laws and regs are necessary in America but I wish they'd just burn this guy at the stake.
