UNC blogger writes article bashing Andrew Wiggins then deletes it

Featured Replies

Keeping It Heel, a University of North Carolina fan site you’ve never heard of, ran a brilliant piece of literature on Andrew Wiggins yesterday. I mean, it was incredible. Like, Pulitzer-worthy. It was so good, I printed out copies on Kodak Premium Plus high-gloss photo paper and mailed them to friends all over the country. It was totally worth the price of postage. That’s how spectacular the article was.

But when I woke up this morning and went to read it again, and print more copies to hand out to strangers in public, it was nowhere to be found. Gone, like a thief in the night.

But I don’t want some awesome video! I want the Andrew Wiggins article!

Did Keeping It Heel purposely delete the perfectly constructed collection of words that captured my basketball-loving heart and soul with its ingenious insight and wisdom? Or did the flood of web traffic cause Keeping It Heel’s servers to crash, sweeping it away from the interwebs forever?

The cause of its tragic disappearance is unknown, but not permanent, thankfully. Not in this day in age. And since I’m such a big fan and admirer of the piece and the Keeping It Heel website, I used some old internet wizardry to dig it up from its online grave.

So, here it is, back from the dead: “Why Andrew Wiggins Not Coming To UNC Is A Good Thing”

Here are a few of my favorite excerpts:

– “He’s an attention seeker. He’s a drama-king. Andrew Wiggins is a one-and-done type of athlete. Hey, actions speak louder than words and all signs point to a look-at-me type of personality.” – Keeping It Heel

– “Apologies ahead of time, but the way he has Prima Donna’d around these last couple weeks has gotten to be excessively excessive. He’s listened to countless courters traveling to see him. The way he’s given just enough interest to coaches to keep them coming back for more is nothing more than a game.” — Keeping It Heel

“The question we should be asking ourselves is this: is he the right player? No. I don’t think James Michael McAdoo or P.J. Hairston would disagree with me either. Especially after the sacrifices they both made.” — Keeping It Heel

You don’t have to thank me for recovering it, Keeping It Heel. Just consider it a small favor from a big fan.

It's unfortunate just how many times per week we could use Run To State's thread title from the politics forum to describe any number of threads.

"Just How Stupid Can Some People Be?"

I wonder if it isn't PP92 with a pen name.

I think this is what Roy Williams did when he read it:[video=youtube;j-0vg0-JzZA]

NO they will just show them Starks' comments.

Of course not. And if it was I'd never tell anyways. Please. I'm smarter than that.

I gotta ask' date=' does this hurt UNC's chances now?[/quote']

No because UK fans can and have been just as bad.

You don't think there isn't some crazy fans that post on Wiggins Twitter all the time and probably make him uncomfortable. Or what about if he doesn't choose UK, I'll be ashamed being a UK fan and being associated with some of the idiots then.

I doubt it really hurts their chances because it doesn't reflect how Roy Williams, UNC, or the rest of their fan base feels about him.

That guy is probably part of UNC's 18%

I'm on twitter and I've seen how they post on his twitter about wanting him to come to BBN and this and that but I've never seen one of our fans say he shouldn't come to UK because blah blah blah or whatever like this guy did.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually a Duke fan doing it.

The way I see things, if you wanna spend a year in college then go to the NBA, come to Kentucky, if you wanna stay 3 or 4 years at a school, then go somewhere else

I haven't either, but just wait & see what happens if Wiggins chooses to go somewhere other than UK.

If Wiggins were to commit elsewhere, the "We didn't want him" and "We don't need him" and "He sucks" tweets will be a plenty from BBN... Not to mention the ones that are NSFBGP.

Oh I know, I've seen that over and over...Oh we need him come to BBN (chooses somewhere else) oh we didn't need him anyway, we'll just beat him when we play him blah blah blah

There won't be much of the "he sucks" stuff (certainly fans aren't that stupid), but definitely the "We didn't want/need him" comments. That along with all the comments about how he's stupid for going somewhere else/have fun watching us cut down the nets/Julius Randle is better, etc.

That's a common. UL fans have been guilty of this also.
