A dead man's switch is essentially a trigger that is pressed and when released it will detonate the bomb. So if you shoot the suspect it would cause them to release the trigger and blow up.

April 19, 201313 yr Author Odd, a family member, I think the father, was talking about how the 19 year old was a good kid, kept mentioning him, and never said a word about the 26 year old brother. I heard earlier that his older brother was trying to change him the last year or so.
