I'm not sure what you mean about the "Private" thing, neither Raceland nor Fairview are private.

 

Well from reading posts I take it that many feel they get a lot of transfers similar to what a private school does. So I think it is a similar scenario. Regardless, my point is simple, worry about yours and not theirs and it usually all works out fine.

I am wondering if something I heard was true. The playoff game between the Rams and Pikeville I was told that the team only watch film on Pikeville for about 20 mins and the rest of the week it was Fairview. i have been told by a few people that this happened if so I would think the coaches would know better.

It seems that Raceland has had a great summer up to the Dead Period getting a lot of work done. I am excited about the effort that some players have put in on their own. Probably the most productive summer I've seen in a while.

 

The senior linemen are leading the way with: Nevan Johnson, Mac Boggs, Austin Manis, and Alec Risner attending quite a few camps on their own. Johnson and Boggs are been all over the state. WR/DB Conner Messer has been to several as well. RB Daylin Beech has been to several. These young men have been busy and are in great shape.

 

The skill players won the 7 on 7 at EKU.

 

The linemen had a great camp at Down and Dirty and looked much improved.

That's some very good news and the potential is there for a very, very special season. As we were talking Ram, they have to stay focused every practice of every week, every play of every quarter / half of every game......No excuses, No exceptions. The kids cannot get caught up in everyone telling them how great they are and not let all the print / press go to their heads. Not one game has ever been won by someone talking, in a newspaper article, radio booth or the local kids "hangout" place for lack of a better term. Games are won first in preparation all week and execution on the field.

( just getting a practice sermon in before going to the season. I am also going to have to work up a new slogan or two ........) Although if any of these kids need a sermon from this old fart then the Rams are in serious trouble :lol2:

I have refrained from commenting to date, mainly because no matter what is said to this point doesn't mean a whole lot. The pads aren't on yet and the games are yet to be played. The only thing that I do know is that Raceland has a ton of talent and potential on the roster for the next 4-6 years. But as we all know, talent and potential don't win ball games.......heart, guts and attitude win ball games. Now, until this group of guys get some swagger or whatever today's kids want to call it, I am afraid we are stuck with potential and talent.........

Having been at Raceland my wish is always for them to go 14-1 with a state championship win. After the first game I hope they win them all. :thumb:
