April 17, 201313 yr The NBA regular season comes to a close and the chase for the final playoff spot is interesting. How it stands now Houston is the #7 seed and the Lakers are the #8 seed. They square off this evening. The 7 and 8 seeds will play San Antonio and Oklahoma City, respectively. If the Lakers win they face San Antonio who I think anyone is going to beat because they are a shell of themselves with injuries, suspensions, etc. Houston would get to face OKC so we would see Harden vs. his old team. However, if Utah wins at Memphis in the earlier game of the night, the Lakers must win or they are out of the playoffs. If the Lakers lose in this scenario, Houston would stay at the 7 slot, I believe Utah would be the 8 seed.

I think Melo warrants consideration for MVP but LeBron wrapped it up with the win streak. Start another thread for us to discuss :thumb:

They'd be bringing the brooms out. Big game tonight... I love my Spurs and Lakers. But the Spurs are going in to the playoffs limping. Since Parker's injury (who was playing at an MVP level at the time) the Spurs have gone 10-9 and lost the best record in the NBA and Western Conference. Ginobili is done, Parker can barely move now, Stephen Jackson has been sent home for the season by Popovich for being a nuisance, Diaw is now injured, and I could not believe my eyes when I read that they signed Tracy McGrady. Really, this is what it has gotten to for my Spurs.
April 17, 201313 yr Also interesting that Monday night's Boston/Indiana game won't be made up. Both the Celtics and the Pacers were locked into their playoff positions so the game had no meaning. But I wonder when was the last time (if ever) an NBA team didn't complete their entire schedule?

April 18, 201313 yr To bad the Jazz lost, would have made it much more entertaining for the Lakers game tonight.
