Curious, what would you set it at??

 

Many people would like to see it adjusted right along with the football classification every time that happens.

 

So basically if you are Class A in Football now, you could play. If you are AA in football you could not. (If your school doesn't play football, just use the largest Class A football school as a guide.)

 

Others would like the number set even smaller at say the smallest 20% of the school playing basketball.

What's the largest class A football school, and would that really put out that many current All "A" partcipants? I think NCC is one of the larger schools in the final 16, and they're the reigning class A football champs!!

In the 9th alone, the following would not be in the All-A if you used current football class A: Newport, St. Henry, Lloyd. If you used the smallest 20% cutoff you could add NCC and Holy Cross to that list. That would leave Dayton, Bellevue, Beechwood, Ludlow, Heritage, Villa.

Why would anyone suggest 20% of the teams in the All "A" in a 4 class system?? Wouldn't 25% make more sense. BTW--The All "A" seems to be doing fine as is, but I could see following the football class system!!

My old HS, Gallatin County, won their region in the All-A. I was talking to a buddy of mine earlier today who probably hasn't been to a HS game in 10 years and he was talking about heading down to Richmond for the Wildcats' game tomorrow. If it's like it was the last time they made it to the All-A (my dad actually went, and he rarely even came to see me play in HS) where half the county heads to Richmond, a burglar could have a field day with all the empty houses.

Some want it to be truly for small schools figuring that some of the larger Class A schools also have a shot at winning their region while the smaller ones do not. Also, if football goes to six classes what would the number be?

You could use the Class A football numbers, just like the All "A" Classic did in 1990, or you could set it somewhere between 500 and 550 students in grades 9-12.

Sounds like a good deal of interest down Gallatin way, and I saw that Lee County has already sold 700 advance tickets; looks like the All "A" is doing pretty well!!

I heard yesterday that Lee Had sold 800 tickets and had requested 500 more. Now that's some excitement!

 

There will be plenty of Bobcat fans in the stands, that's for sure. Just like when Owsley played in Richmond the times they've been there. The fans from those two counties have a short drive to Richmond. Most Lee countians can be there within 50 minutes or less. So I suppose Beattyvlle and surrounding communties will be pretty empty today. It's a little easier for us than someone from western Kentucky to make the trip. So, Expect a LOT of Bobcat blue in the arena today.

I would have to say excitment overall in the 15th was pretty decent espically with South Floyd and Paintsville playing in the finals (those two teams bring a good size crowd). In my neck of the woods tho excitment was at an all time low and with the unexpectied early exit I doubt it will be much better next year.
