Someone named "beanie"? it sounded like pitched first 2 innings for scott and thru a lot of strikes.

Niemer pitched first 3 for St.H. LaCorte hit the ball hard the first 2 times up for St.H.

NO reason to play at all..................It is early in the season.........

with 30 degree weather and 15-20 mph wind, that puts the windchill around 18. miserable

 

Other things on the game...that I heard. St.H led 5-2 going into the last inning. Lost 7-5. I think LaCorte pitched into the 7th, got in trouble, and Kuebbing brought in. That had to be extremely hard to do, as he played right field, standing out in the cold, and then having to throw the last bit.

Scott's shortstop looked good making plays.

With my own experience in observing high school baseball, I've always said if a field is good enough to play on then play. The temperature should not effect if the game is played it not (unless its too hot). The reason I say this is because you never know in the month of April and May when you're going to get a week of rain and Miss 3-4 games.

Btw congrats to Scott, probably was hard to hit in this weather let alone the staff of Randy Johnson's St. Henry has.

Been around the game at various high levels............Disagree with you 100% but I understand where you are coming from..................No problem playing once temp's are above freezing..........Randy Johnson comment is classic............

Agree 100%. When an athletes body is spending all it's energy in keeping warm rather than performing the skills required for the game, it's too cold to play AND risking potential nagging type injuries. It will get warm sometime.

 

And, Loogy, those 90+ fastballs must have just shattered some of those cold bats . . .

It sure does have us spoiled, but if little johnny goes to college around here they start around the 1st of feb. so get used to it.

I see where that wells pitched 2 inn does any body have info on him, i heard his name come up before sounds like he has good skills.

He's a solid player. Doesn't throw real hard, but has good location, and just gets outs. Has the ability to play several positions, including catcher. Nothing flashy, probably won't get many headlines, but is the kind of kid you like to have on your team.

It is definately not good for a kids arm playing in this weather. Why do you think major league teams leave for a month and a half? I have seen a lot of kids get injured early in the season due to the cold and their arms not being properly taken care of.

Everybody schedules knowing the late March chance of bad weather. If the coaches didn't want to play yet they should not have scheduled. Some teams haven't played yet for that reason.
