2013/2014 Teams to watch

Featured Replies

Why live in the past? LOL

Who are the teams to watch this summer that should compete for the State title in the 2013/2014 season?

Does Anderson County get the top billing next year?

NCC should have a real nice team next year and make a strong run at the 9th region crown. Brossart has a lot coming back and will have a lot of senior leadership and will make a run for the 10th. Not sure about the teams south of NKY.

SK should be strong. They only lose one starter and had an undefeated JV team.

I think ND only loses OV. Big loss, but still should be very good!

Teams like Ryle,HHS, Conner, Holy Cross may be a year away. Camp co also has a nice sophomore to be class next year.

NCC and ND should rule the 9th.

Was talking about this with some kids this weekend. Anderson only loses 2, only one of which any real significance, the core of the team all return. Don't know if they will be the the favorite for the pre-season #1 team or not, but they for sure will be in the conversation.

Sk, Anderson, and Gallatin lead the way in the 8th next year. I see Gallatin doing more than winning the All "A" Regional with what they have coming back.

NDA's success will depend on who their coach is.

Nice. Leaving us to wonder "what does he/she know but isn't telling us?"

Do tell.

Forgot about SK. They should be real strong next year. A lot coming back and they are very well coached.

ETOWN!!!, D.HUFF!!! E.BOLEY!!! R.WARDEN!!! O.BOWLING!!! R.CLEAVER!!!(SWEETS) T.THOMAS!!! and lone senior K.MUDD!!!

Town is losing one starting Sr. and one Sr. Odd the bench that had good min. The group above has been playing together a long time and has also already won a jr high state championship... minus Mudd. Timing will be the key, but the defense will be "NICE" I'm sure.

Conner will return Madi Meyers, Brooke Maines, Hunter Hendricks and Taylor Gambrel along with some other promising underclassmen so I would expect them to have a very competitive team once again in the 9th Region next season.

I will throw Sacred Heart into the mix as a state contender for next year. They lose one starter from this year's team and two role players. (Matula, Long, and Stough).

Ruffin returns and should be regional POY and Miss KY basketball candidate for next year. Merriweather returns for her senior year after rehabing from a knee injury and should be another force for teams to contend with taking pressure off of Ruffin. Juniors Samsel and Johnson round out the back court along with senior Baisas. This team will be a very quick athletic team with one glaring weakness. (Height)

I think Anderson County, Elizabethtown, Notre Dame, and SHA will be in the top 5 at the end of next years season baring any injury's.

Privates: Mercy, Sacred Heart and Assumption; Publics: Butler, Bullitt East, Manual, Eastern, Ballard and Male will be in the thick of the 6th/7th mix again next year - the usual suspects.

Losing Jordan Scott is a HUGE loss.

I agree Jordan will definitely be a huge loss for Conner but I believe they have enough talent coming up thru the system to hopefully offset the loss of Jordan. As I said in my earlier post I look for Conner to be very competitive in the 9th next season.
