Buckhorn 97 Wolfe 78

Featured Replies

Cody Gilbert hit some unbelieveable 3 point shots but that was not enough for Wolfe to beat Buckhorn. The tension in the gymnasium between both sides was heavy in the air and toward the end the game almost got out of hand, especially after a punch was thrown (apparently out of the view of the officials) down on the floor when both teams were going for a loose ball.

Yea it was kind of crazy. I've been at some tense ball games but wow let me just say wow.

Anyhow, while I'll be on Lee's side; I wish both teams good luck.

Also, I think the Wolves are still improving. They've got some work to do; but they are by no means a floor mat.

No doubt. Wolfe Co is playing a little better (beat Hazard) but I must say that they are gonna have to stop being such a 1 man show.

I agree. While Gilbert is a great, gifted player, there are several other players on the Wolfe team who are capable of stepping up. Seemed like Stamper was having an off night toward the end. Missed free throws hurt Wolfe worse than anything though, in my opinion.

How many did Gilbert have tonight?

How many did Gilbert have tonight?

Sports Overtime said he had 46.

Gilbert really isn't a one man show, he also LEADS his team is assists, he just has to do most of the work for them!

Wolfe played no defense. If they are going to be a real threat in the region they are going to have to pick up the D. Buckhorn scored one easy basket after another, and every time Wolfe would make a run, Buckhorn woul would reel off 3 or 4 easy baskets. You ain't gonna beat many teams when you give up 97.

Oh, bold statement 2 Hand Set Shot!

How about that Blank kid from Buckhorn...looks like he's shooting everything but

Wolfe simply was out hustled and out played. Buckhorn took them out of their game early. Nice win for Buckhorn. Not much d played on either end .

Layup by Gilbert on one end and then within 10secs one of Buckhorns 5 Players laying it in from 5 feet on the other.

Goodluck in the finals Buckhorn

Wolfe still has to work out the issues of playing together. I don't think it is one man show syndrome. I just think the first part of the year Gilbert was forced to do so much he might be having a tough time throttling back. I think the will be an awesome team once they realize that the weight of the team doesn't lay on the shoulders of Gilbert,Stamper,Crowe, Bush or Wilson. If they can learn to share the burdens they will be a force to reckon with come late Feb. Had they had the same defensive intensity they had against Hazard it would have been a much better ballgame. I don't know if the outcome would have changed but it might have. Good luck to Buckhorn tonight. Ithink they will need it. Lee has to many weapons.
