Ashley Judd needs support dog during interview

Featured Replies

If that's the subject I would agree.

For the record, I've never considered her to be serious about a run.

I've thought for awhile she was just a distraction and the Democrats have the real person waiting on the back burner.

UK hockey jersey or UK t-shirt from the interview - vote now...

I have this feeling that some of the 'liberal elites' are pushing her to test the waters for a run against McConnell. Just a gut feel. I am sure they believe if Al Franken can win a senate seat - she could.

But I can not see her being a tool of Harry Reid and Chuck Schumer in the senate. If she makes this run - and wins - she made need a few more dogs to offset the dogs she would have to deal with in Washington.

First, although I'm sure that I will be blasted for it despite this disclaimer, I AM NOT MAKING LIGHT OF ANYONE THAT DEALS WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES.

Liberal Activist, Tennessee resident (at least during the DNC), Hollywood elitist and potential Senatorial candidate from KY insisted her pets including a service dog named Shug be on set during a softball interview on ABC. All of this to help her combat issues she has with depression, for which she had been in rehab.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that if she does run she's going to face harsher scrutiny then she did from ABC. Can she handle it? If the people of KY are indeed STUPID enough to elect her (they did vote for Richie Farmer based strictly on his UK status after all) can she handle the rigors of being a Senator? The link below includes a video inset of the interview.

Well since Kentuckians were stupid enough to elect Paul and Mitch a number of times that should give you a Big clue , And no I wouldn't vote for her .

What I took from this thread was that a woman who wants to possibly be in the U.S. Senate can't talk in public without her service dog. I wish her well but if the mental illness is this bad I don't think she is fit for office.

This is it exactly.

I can go along with that.

I'm old enough to remember that the whole "depression/mental illness" thing didn't go so well for Thomas Eagleton.

Then again, they were still performing lobotomy surgery then, so there's that. We have advanced some in the past 41 years in terms of how we view folks with mental illness.

I would prefer my leaders to be free of mental issues minus the narcissism most have any way.

Yes, but my point was that just because someone suffers from bouts of depression doesn't mean they get wrapped up in a straight jacket and shoved in a padded cell. Fifty years ago it was a different story.

And just in case some don't care to face it, but here's the facts: The Ashley that was on that silly calendar hasn't existed for a long, long time. As it stands now, she is UK's version of what Dyan Cannon is to the Lakers. A chick who is known more now for the sports team she supports than anything she ever did during her acting career. And her fandom or that silly (but sexy) calendar don't give her the cachet to be a US senator. As much as it pains me, Mitch is more preferable, and I really, really dislike Mitch. But at least I know what he's all about.

That this is what Democrats forward as the best option for unseating Mitch tells me they aren't trying very hard, or just aren't very serious about it.

The Kentucky Democratic Party has been complete mess for quite some time now. I'm not surprised that there isn't anyone to step up.

Wouldn't the democrats be better off asking Beshear to run?

Maybe, but I don't know that all that many Democrats across the state want to be in a position where Jerry Abramson becomes governor.

Will the Tea Party challenge the nomination? I'm betting they do.

Ashley Judd is not what we need for a Senator, she can't stand up to the liberals like Mitch does. I'm sure liberals would love for her to win.
