Congrats to SF1230 and his Scott Eagles! I underestimated you guys tonight, I thought AHS would get you. Good luck the rest of the way, Eagles.

Thanks. Appreciate it. Talk about a hostile atmosphere. Augusta may have the best fan base in the state. My opinion is they are better then the Colonel Crazies. Unbelievable, felt like the championship game. To the Augusta fans, you guys were great made the game really exciting.

Was pulling for the Panthers tonight but they couldn't quite get it done. Congrats to Scott High, I expect another exciting game against Harrison!!

Physicality & size were the two big differences in this game IMO. Augusta squeezes every last drop out of its guys, but they physically just couldn't match up with Scott. Bach had to really fight for everything he got, particularly in the first half. I read a lot of frustration in his body language, but he came out in the second half & immediately scored 5 points to make a 36-28 halftime score 36-33. Two or three times the Panthers cut it to 2 points, but Scott had an answer every time. Eagles did a lot of damage on the boards, where they had a distinct advantage. Crim & Jackson were tough down low all night long.

Speaking of Mr. Jackson, he was outstanding tonight, finishing with 17 points & 14 boards. He made a lot of big plays down the stretch to help secure the victory. I was also very impressed with senior Kevin Jehn. He had 13 points, hit some big shots & just made some nice plays. Very nice player. Also kudos to the Scott coaching staff who came in with what appeared to be an offensive game plan of pound the paint, pound the paint, & pound the paint some more. Well done Coach Carr & staff! :thumb:

I've enjoyed following this Augusta team all season long. Love watching Bach & the talented freshmen group & I really have enjoyed watching Tanner Kelsch, who played his final high school game (13 points & 9 boards tonight). Augusta had to replace nine seniors from last year's squad. They'll have just as much difficulty replacing Tanner as they had in replacing those nine seniors.

Congrats to Coach Hinson & his team on a great season! :thumb:

Also, that Augusta crowd was crazy tonight. I love to see a community so supportive of its team. White & orange all over The Fieldhouse tonight.

Congrats to the Eagles!

Hustling Panthers come close but fall to physical Eagles

Congratulations to the Scott Eagles on the win! Also, congrats to the Augusta Panthers on a tremendous season, as well as their District Championship. Never a doubt that this would be a hard fought game that would come down to the final minute. I must say, it was really nice seeing the complete respect the opposing staff's showed to the players of the other team. After the game, I watched the Scott coaches embrace the Augusta kids as well as the Augusta coaches embrace the Scott kids. In all my years following basketball, I don't know if I've ever witnessed such mutual respect. It was truly refreshing to see.

The very best of luck to the Scott team this Friday night. Also, I just wanted to give my sincere best wishes to Mr. Kelsch on whatever it is that his life brings. I really enjoyed watching him play tonight. He also shoots the three better than his dad! The fans of Augusta have loads of great basketball that they will see in the next three seasons. Hopefully their Coach will be able to stick around to coach them. Surely he has to be on someone's short list.

Great season for the Panthers, many exciting games and the Augusta fans have been awesome.

That's exactly right Randy! That's what I've been saying this whole time. I mean Augusta could have pulled it out, but it just wasn't likely! Great year Augusta!

Scott with a big win......................Great job and an exciting game!

If I'm not mistaken, Augusta started three freshmen tonight.

Didn't they only start one senior? They should be a contender next year too. Great season for them.

Kelsch is their only Senior, from what I read in the program. They'll surely miss him! Goldy, I think they'll be ranked anywhere from 1-3 preseason next year.

Thanks, thought they only had one senior. I can see them ranked in the top with Bishop Brossart next year.

I believe Cody Staggs, who only got to play in the last 4-5 games is also a senior. May be another one as well.

Actually they have four seniors - Austin Conn, who wasn't at the Scott game due to a commitment with the US Army, Caleb Hunt, and the aforementioned Tanner Kelsch and Cody Staggs.
