I hear what your saying and I have acknowledged that Grant had a great game plan and were prepared, focused and ready to play. But I do disagree with you on whether they can beat SK. Stowers is one of the best coaches in the 8th and his teams are always prepared come tournament time. SK is a better team than Walton and they play a fast paced, in your face style (completely different from Walton's slow methodical style). If they can bury you, they will. Look what they did to Williamstown last night. Honestly, if Grant can stay within 20, I will be surprised. I wish Grant the best but I don't see another upset.

Different type of athletes.

Coach West is a great coach. Coach West and his staff did a great job prepearing for the Bearcats.

Walton's style of play is appropriate for the kids they have as is SK's style of play for the kids they have. With two big kids that need to play a lot of minutes, you can't run up and down the court. It was not that long ago that SK played a slow it down half court game. Their kids are smaller and faster now, so they are able to play more up tempo.

If you've seen the video of Hearn's last shot, there's something that many people will not realize...she shot that with her "off" hand. (And yes, I've seen players use their off hand for layups or putbacks under the basket...but, not jumpers from 8-10 feet).

 

From what I understand, Billie was originally a right-handed shooter, but a lawn mower accident during her 6th grade year (I believe), cut off a tip of a finger on her right hand. Figuring that the ball rotation would not come out of her hand correctly from there after, she taught herself how to shoot left-handed...which is what she's done throughout high school.

 

Her game-winning shot though, came off her right hand.

So we can safely assume over the last four years while Walton was compiling 97 wins, 3 district Championships, 3 All A 8th Region Championships, 2 8th Region Championships and 1 All A State Championship, you have been one grumpy, unhappy fellow.

You take the kids that should be going else where and see what that gets them.
