Just because you are All Region does not put you above a wake up call of some time on the pine because you are not performing. Sometimes, a few minutes on the bench is all it takes to turn things around and light a fire. And yes, no disrespect to you, but coaches do it all the time. In a WIN or go home game this could possibly keep you from going home.

Maybe I should have said I have seen it several times and most of the situations it proved to be effective. The kid responded and played with a renewed attitude. In regards to All Region, I actually was referencing another post trying to point out that no one is above sitting out if your not performing. And yes, going 4 for 23 is not performing to a level that will win many games.

Completely different story for Walton, they got out rebounded 38-19 and Hearn dominated the paint. Walton's bigs just did not perform (rebounding, defense, scoring) and that's the bottom line. Paint it however you want but numbers don't lie. Some time on the pine wouldn't have hurt.

Do you have the stats or have they been published somewhere? I'm curious as to what WV shot from the field. I'm guessing they shot less than 30% for the game and when that happens....its virtually a guarantee that you are going to get out rebounded.

No, I don't have the total shooting stats. However, even if you shoot a poor percentage, if you're crashing the boards you will not get out rebounded by 19.

offensive rebound percentage is the stat you want to look at to see who is actually winning the battle on the boards.

If anyone believes that Walton was not out coached last night was obviously not at the game. Grant went into the game with a game plan and they stuck by it. They could have easily folded when WV hit the three to put them up 7 at half, but they didn't. The Grant coaches and players were prepared for everything WV through at them and they executed to near perfection. Lets not overlook that Grant had an off night shooting too. If they can game plan against SK like they did WV and hit a couple more shots then there will be a district championship banner hanging at GC.

I hear what your saying and I have acknowledged that Grant had a great game plan and were prepared, focused and ready to play. But I do disagree with you on whether they can beat SK. Stowers is one of the best coaches in the 8th and his teams are always prepared come tournament time. SK is a better team than Walton and they play a fast paced, in your face style (completely different from Walton's slow methodical style). If they can bury you, they will. Look what they did to Williamstown last night. Honestly, if Grant can stay within 20, I will be surprised. I wish Grant the best but I don't see another upset.
