Yes, she played and played great but the player of the game for Conner was Madi Meyers. She was a beast around the basket.

I thought she picked her dribble up and was pushed from behind. This caused her to go forward, after she landed, she then shot it.

 

That's pretty much what happened.

 

It was the call of the outside official.

 

Girl drove. Picked up her dribble to shoot. Fouled from behind. Ball came loose and she took a step. Caught the ball and put it in.

 

Correct call was made. Fouled when starting her shooting motion ie picked up the dribble to shoot. Ball was released (shot). Ball was caught. (Shot ended). At the point it doesn't matter what happened after that. Shot ended. Didn't go in. 2 shots.

Jordan Scott had an awesome final game of her senior year with 17 points and 15 rebounds. She absolutely played her heart out and left it all on the floor. Conner's 4 seniors (Scott, Pluto, Porter, Fairchild) were true leaders and great role models for the younger players. They don't have any reason to hang their head this morning as they helped to bring Conner back to a top program. I wish them all the best in the future.

I feel bad for Jordan...I got to meet her and talk with her and I can tell you she is a fierce competitor that wears her heart on her sleeve and has the game to back it all up.

 

Boone must have had a great game plan to shut her down, I hear that Meyers had a great game but apparently Nell felt like shutting Jordan down was more important to winning the game than allowing Meyers to have a great game.

 

Either way, good luck to Jordan in college next yr and good luck to Boone...

If you all are claiming that the officials are afraid of fookes and calls games to favor her, then that is some serious accusations and you should probably bring it up to the head of officials.

 

I on the other hand saw a hard fought game with bad officiating on both sides. Boone led the majority of the game and to even bring up the officiating to me seems like there are some who want to make excuses.

I can't believe how some blogs ALWAYS turn into a discussion about how bad the officiating was. People always need excuses because their teams loses. It's really sad they can't just accept the lose and move on.

Didn't see the play. Sounds like the explanation given was that the shooting motion started, player fouled, ball is shot, ball is caught or touched again, ball goes in.

 

If that is how it was seen by the official then the call was correct.

By definition a shot ends when , among other things, it is apparent it is not going to be good. When the player caught the ball after the initial release the shot was over since it was not going in without aid if another touch.

Good explanation. I have seen this call before and it is exactly how it should have been called. Just because all the fans with no knowledge of the rules think it is wrong shows how much they don't know.

Nell is always a factor. Her record speaks for itself. Her team was prepared for tonight's battle and they move on to play Ryle.

Sounds to me like other schools are tired of losing to Boone. Even when they have the better talent they loose. Could it be she is just that much better a coach than the others? Quit crying and figure out a way to beat Boone at tournament time.

Yes she did. I made the comment that she goes fast by playing slow. She is really a smooth player.

Secondly, I have not read where anyone said that Conner lost because of the officiating. Some have said it was questionable, but not the reason/excuse for the loss. By the way, were you at the game and what was your opinion?

She picked up her dribble and was pushed(foul) took another step re-gathered herself and shot the ball.

 

When the whistle blew I was not sure whether they were going to call the foul or call traveling.
