That is why I said it looked like a travel. I thought she got fouled before the shot, but if she was fouled in the act of shooting then a travel should of been called because she took 3 clear steps before putting the ball up.

 

Either way they screwed that call up. Either give her the basket and let her shoot 1, or give Conner the baall out of bounds. If their explanation is what they claim happened then they should count the baskket because it was in the act of shooting. how do you shoot twice? lol

If you all are claiming that the officials are afraid of fookes and calls games to favor her, then that is some serious accusations and you should probably bring it up to the head of officials.

 

I on the other hand saw a hard fought game with bad officiating on both sides. Boone led the majority of the game and to even bring up the officiating to me seems like there are some who want to make excuses.

I know lol. That one still has me scratching my head. I will say that I think too many times this year the officiating has taken a lot away from the games and that is sad.

How do you know it was the baseline official's call?

I agree with you on the Maines foul....we all said the same thing, it made no sense. Either the shot was good or the shot didn't count due to the foul being before the shot. We said the same thing when it happened. If she was fouled when she was shooting there should of been a traveling call before the foul, but what I thought happened was she was fouled before the shot and it should of been Conner's ball out of bounds because I don't think they were in the bonus yet. you are right that was a big time screw up.

With that said, as I said earlier there were a lot of fouls not called and several traveling calls that weren't called that benefitted Conner. There was no Nell Factor, if there was then it was to go against her.

I did bring up the ref's because I thought some bad calls were mad, as I stated not the reason one team won or the other lost. You stated the game was called evenly and I think if you look at the foul totals prior to Boone fouling to stop the clock Conner was called for twice as many up to the 6 minute mark in the fourth. Boone was shooting the double bonus before Conner got one for one. Also a lot of the calls made in that second half were outside the square. With that said Boone played better, Conner missed two key one and ones and a game winning shot. They lost, period!

My question, just like everyone has I'm sure is how do you take 2 shots with the ball not leaving your hand twice? I could see it if the ball was blocked the first time, but tthe defender never touched the ball, it was a pusing foul from what I saw which is wwhy it looked like Maines stumbled (took the extra step) before putting the ball up. Looked like she was pushed from behind, she stumbled and then laid the ball up. Sounds like to me if it was a shooting foul then the basket counts and she gets 1 shot.

There was no attempt first and then drive to make the layup. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think anyone saw her shooting uuntil she laid the ball up and in. That was her first attempt. there was no first shot that we saw, it was just a drive to the basket which she made the layup. Oh well, as the saying goes, you learn something everyday lol.
