I have some debates on these

1.) Lee can go 9 deep, the 3 games this week wont be that big of an issue.

2.) If Owsley gets in foul trouble they are in trouble no matter what. Not a great bench

3.) Not sure where you get that the momentum is swinging the favor of the Owls. The Owls have fan support but Lee has had that all season

4.) Lee wants it just as bad even if they haven't won one, maybe even moreso

5.) I think the pressure has never been greater on these kids this year

6.) Not even sure what you mean

7.) Smith is tough no doubt, but I think Brandenburg can step up and hit a clutch shot more that Neely can

8.) That is true, Smith has done a fine job

9.) It is tough to beat a team 3 times but I think Lee is that much better than Owsley and will win.

Lee 68

Owsley 64

Big play off the bench won the game against JBS.

Maybe not a momentum swing from Lee to Owsley, but Owsley is definitely gaining momentum.

Lee and Owsley is the type of rivalry in which the team that wants it more will more than likely come out with the "W", I don't doubt that Lee wants it, they are a tough group of kids.

Neeley is a better pure shooter than Brandenburg, plus he feels like he has respect to earn.

Lee is that much better than Owsley? You have them picked to win by 4..... sounds like a blowout.

Key fact. Close games are won from the foul line. Lee missed 9 in the last :52 seconds against JC. Big Fact!

With the game being played in Hazard at Sherman Niece should give both teams a fair advantage court wise. Both have a long drive. I think the Owls want it more, but are they good enough to pull it off? I think maybe they are. That Smith kid is tops right now. My personal favorite is their big center. Course I've seen smaller kids get rebounds over him. Basketball is a funny thing, you have to lose once in a while and somebody is going to lose this one. I think the Owls will win. :jump:

You say Lee has no go to guy...hmmm. Well, I would have to agree, they have go to GUYS! Anyone can beat you. Thats the point.

Who said that?

Tough to win 3 against the same team in the same year and this could possibly not be the last meeting. Going to be a tough battle and some of the best basketball in 2 games tonight as there is anywhere in the state. Lee in a battle royale but I wouldnt bet an Ale 8 on it. Should be a great game between 2 great All A schools.

Owsley faithful are just that "faithful"

1st game in booneville: traditional will beat lee since they hadnt won in booneville in 19 yrs. lee wins by 13.

2nd game in beattyville: lee cant win 2 district games in one year and they get smith back. lee wins by 19.

3rd game in All "A": Owsley are playing better & 3rd time might be a charm.

This is what is great about High School basketball!! Stick with your team!!

Ditka playing the Bobcats?? I'll take Ditka 100 to tree (3).

Owsley and Lee should be proud of their accomplishments and the fact they will both be a force to be reckoned with in late Feb.

Does anyone know the capacity of the Sherman Neace Center?

True Augger, I'm going with you on this one..I have faith in our boys ...if they do win it will be a very close game. I wish Owsley the best of luck, I think they will bring home a win tonight, hopefully. GOOD LUCK OWLS! :dancingpa

Owsley-62

Lee-60  :jump:

QUOTE=Augger]This will be a close game and an excellent game. Lee has beat Owsley easily twice this season. That hasnt happened in a long time. But this is a different Owsley team now and they are playing alot better. The Owls have switched to a zone defense and less man to man. But Lee County has an excellent team with a good inside player in Rich and good shooters on the perimeter.

I have to go with Owsley though. It is hard to beat a team 3 times in one year and I dont see it happening this time. This will be one heck of a game. In front of a packed gym.

Great game, great atmosphere. Smith is the deciding factor!

Well the way you all talk about Owsley they will be competing for the NBA finals this year. Lee is still the better team here and I believe much better but it is a rivalry so it will be close

Ditka playing the Bobcats?? I'll take Ditka 100 to tree (3).

 Da Bears. Brings back some memories.

I think this will be a great game. It is hard to beat anyone 3 times, especially when they are a different team. However, I'll take Lee by5. Yet, an Owsley Co. win would not surprise me either.
