So how are NKY area tryouts going so far?

How do most teams conduct tryouts? Is there typically a first cut? How long of a period is this?

I recently heard that Ryle made cuts within a couple of days into tryouts. Heard from a parent of a player trying out.

I believe the duration and method of the tryout is up to each school as long as it is fair for all particpants

Walker Terry is a good pitcher. He's been trying out with the JV & Varsity. Jake Ohmer is another notable pitcher.

Obviously I know them. Anyone new who is playing on the actual freshman team.

A Ryle player will not be cut until he has been evaluated for at least 3 practices.

Campbell County finised thier tryouts last night. Two or three 8th graders made the freshman team.

Now that Scott has actaully held a few days of tryouts. How does the pitching situation look now? Are there any juniors who have some promise to help the seniors?

Were any Freshman cut?

Another general question.........CCH has the largest class of Frosh students, ever (not just coming out for baseball).........Are the other schools finding this also? Was it just a cold winter that year?

Higher numbers should mean better competition......right?

Should be ineteresting. With a large number of Freshman and how the weather has been I'm curious how Freshman coaches will be able to truly judge the talent, especially fielding when most teams haven't been able to do any fielding during tryouuts yet unless you count throwing in a gym.

The juniors are solid and progressing but none of them stand out. Most of them haven't played varsity ball so it might be a little of a learning curve for them early in the season. Expect Scott's catcher, Kyle Kramer, to pitch a lot more this year.

Peter Ohmer will probably be the ace this year. Kramer would be but he is much needed behind the plate. The Eagles will struggle this year, but come tournament time Coach Trame will have them ready!

I definitely agree! The Eagles offense is going to be amazing this season. And the scary thing is, it will only get better. Trame is a great at developing his players.

It's such a shame that Ray Everett can't pitch this season. He's always been a favorite of mine.
