It was 39 to 34 with 5 1/2 minutes to go. With 3 minutes to go Huntington led by 11 and Ashland started fouling. Huntington missed 3 straight front ends of bonus situations and Ashland couldn't capatilize.

Ashland only had 4 player score.

I don't think he attempted more than just a couple of shots tonight. He just couldn't seem to get open. His back is ok.

All I saw was Wilcox fall down three times dribbling so maybe his back is hurt?

I'm not sure about his injury, but trying to get into the mix several games into the season might have something to do with it?

From what I was told last week by Huntington people, the Highlanders weren't as "focused" about the game as were people around here. Could it be that combining this with what posters are describing as, at least, a semi-slowdown by Ashland be the causes of Huntington's lackluster performance which resulted in the relatively close outcome?

Patrick Patterson did not impress me one bit. He looked pretty good, and you can tell he has great athletic ability. He seemed to have trouble getting open against McDavid and Williams, and Brandon Williams took it right at him a couple of times. If UK is recruiting him Ive got 4 words Patterson is "The Next Sheray Thomas". I would take Matt Thomas, Drew McDavid, Antonio Owens, or Jon Vanhoose over him anyday.

Nothing against Ashland's play but how can the headline in paper be something like Huntington holds off upset bid when they won by 17?

He should have 14 and 17, he was by far the most athletic player on the floor and the biggest. But there was nothing impressive about anything he did. I think if you are that big and that highly recruited you should score atleast 20 against a team that has NO ONE even close to your size. FWIW he didnt live up to the hype for me.

AT 41 I see why you do not coach. A team puts a guy in front and behind a player it will be hard to get 20 every night.

The kid is being recruited by big time schools.
