Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. As I remember, Surgalski's "range" did not extend past four or five feet from the basket. I remember when he tried to guard Marques Dawson out on the floor. His lack of speed and mobility were obvious to everyone including Flynn because the matchup was quickly changed. Now, put his right around the basket and his brute strength worked well against lesser athletes.

In my opinion, Surgalski's game resembled Brett Miller much more than Patrick Patterson.

You are certainly entitled to that opinion. :thumb:

I agree 100%, Surgalski did well around the basket, and does well in college too. I just think that to say he is a better player than Patterson is a very dumb biased comment.

Dumb, huh? Well then. I'll give ya biased...

I dont think you can win or lose battles based on personal opinion. In my opinion Surgalski was a better high school player than Patterson is, or will be. He may not have the athleticism that Patterson has, but I believe Surgalski's overall game was better. Surgalski had range which is one thing Patterson does not have. Watching him shoot free throws was brutal.

Using "your logic", then you have to agree Tyler Clark, Zach Gillum, Justin Maynard and Stephen Kidd were all much better players than Surgalski, just look at their "numbers"

I think bottom line is Patterson COULD be a great college player and possibly move to another level, but he has yet to give that effort or desire to do so. He has the ability and the build to be better than anyone in this area, but has yet to use either of the two! He is a bit on the lazy side to me, so yeah, he would probably fit in at UK. Once again, when Patterson finally decides to wake up and play, he MIGHT make it to Div I ball.
