I'll look into it. It was a new magazine, and when I loaded it again yesterday, it was a bit easier.

 

New magazines are always a joy to load when you leave your speed loader at home.

 

I generally keep all my magazines loaded just so that is one less time I need to load them at the range. Of course one time I wasn't paying attention to my magazines due to watching other shooters and accidently grabbed a mag loaded with Critical Defense defense rounds. That was money down the drain.

I was shooting to the right so I adjusted the rear sight. I'm wondering though if I should adjust my grip or I'm doing something wrong while shooting that affects my aim.

 

I need to find a good trainer to help me. I know there are things I am doing that are unknowingly affecting my accuracy. The Jefferson Co. Sportmen's Club has a bulls eye shooter group that meets Monday evenings. I need to leave work early one Monday's and join them. Those guys are crazy accurate.

A friend of mine recommended not leaving the magazine fully loaded as it will cause the spring to prematurely lose force. I am leaving only three bullets in each for now. I am going to be looking for loaders though.

I hear the opposite, that it is the repeated compression and release the springs which cause them to lose their force. That didn't sound correct to me so I researched it and found other places reporting the same. Some places mentioned generations old 1911 magazines found in basements fully loaded and still fully operable. Doesn't sound correct but I keep hearing more and more supporting it. And if they are wrong, Glockmeister and Midway USA have magazine springs really cheap. LOL.

Interesting...I am shooting to the left...but I am left-handed. Are you shooting right-handed? Maybe we should trade guns.

I conceal both. The 17 is less comfortable but I still conceal it. I sometimes just toss it in the glove compartment.

Gotcha. Some say full sized Glocks (17, 22, 20, 21, etc.) are too big to conceal but hear of people who do it all the time. My next Glock will be the 20 and I will probably conceal it.

My 17 is much harder to conceal, its more noticeable but ive never been called out on it. I plan to carry it more in winter (winter jacket) and my 19 rest of the time. I love both but the full sized 17 is something else, I love it.

if the spring isn't defective from bad material or manufacturing error and is the correct size it shouldn't fail either way.

I firmly believe, if you have a big enough rearend, you can conceal anything.

Confusing topic.

 

I've have been told to have a rotation of magazines. For example if you carry 1 mag in the weapon and 1 spare, then you should have 2 more spares that you leave unloaded at home. Then periodically (once every 2-3 months) switch them out and let the first two rest. That can get expensive if you like to carry more than 1 spare and I don't know if it is necessary.
