February 2, 201313 yr I don't know of any restaurants who do this. But as someone who used to be a server, I don't have a problem with it. Those who are going to tip will, and some will appreciate the ability not to think about the %. It amazes me how many people can't calculate 15% in their head. As I tell everyone if you can calc 10% in your head you can then calc 15% in your head.
February 2, 201313 yr I was talking to a guy I know in DC who used to be the bar/restaurant manager at a Hyatt restaurant. He says that people "in the biz" are the best tippers. He said they usually tip 40%.
February 2, 201313 yr Author Your method is you tip tip 20%.:lol::lol: Hey LRCW, what is tip tip?

February 2, 201313 yr Your method is you tip tip 20%.:lol::lol: That would be correct, sir. No calculation needed. Real simple.
February 2, 201313 yr Author That would be correct, sir. No calculation needed. Real simple. 51, can you tell me what tip tip is?
February 2, 201313 yr That would be correct, sir. No calculation needed. Real simple. Mr Harris would be proud.
February 2, 201313 yr 51, can you tell me what tip tip is? Well I'm not sure, but my best guess would be a tip about tipping.
February 2, 201313 yr Servers work for an hourly pittance and are often penalized for things beyond their control (steak cooked too well, for instance). Even if there is legitimately bad service, I won't leave less than 15%. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Forum Runner Too true. However, in the rare occurrence that I get a really lousy waiter/waitress (i.e. bad attitude, really bad performance) I'll go lower than 15%, but I can only remember that happening once or twice over the years.
February 2, 201313 yr Hey LRCW, what is tip tip? Tip tip is a 60 hour work week, and another 10 to go.
February 2, 201313 yr Author Tip tip is a 60 hour work week, and another 10 to go. You made me laugh out loud!

February 2, 201313 yr I have an app for that! But I like this though and more places should do this, also a little reminder that the servers do count on tips.
