What Rule Change Would You Make?

Don't permit a time out to be called as the player is going out of bounds.

On a loose ball....diving in on top of others should be a foul..or maybe it already is. But seems things get out of control a lot of times before a whistle is heard.

layers stats and also takes away apportunities for playing time for those that may not typically get much varsity level playing time.

I'll ask you. Why can't a team use their timeout when they have clear possession of the ball? Why does it matter where the feet are?

You are correct on the loose ball. Too often it's not called a foul when it should.

...and put helmets and pads on the players.

No you can still play good defense without the block or charge. My biggest reason to get rid of them is all the flopping and inconsistency of the officials. Now if go back to when I played back in the late 70's and early 80's when flopping was a technical and the calls were more consistent, then I would be ok with keeping them.

Sure you can still play good D but what do you want the officials to do when a collision happens under the basket?

Maybe adopt the semi-circle like the colleges have. That could help because people can't just stand underneath the basket when a player goes up for a shot. I'm all in favor in helping the officials call it more consistently but something needs to be done about the flopping.

The semi-circle underneath the should be used for the safety of both players. A few years back a player was well known to establish position so far underneath that if the goal fell it would have went around his neck. lol. This resulted in a player receiving a deep cut to the chin and a broken right arm after coming down on this player setup to far underneath the goal. Injured player was called for the offensive foul. After attending approx. 15 games this season and watching some on ihigh a call that I have yet seen to be made is the 3- second lane violation. With the numbers of taller players increasing, it gives the Bigger players to much of an advantage to be able to come down the floor and establish position in the post with either one or two feet in the lane and stay in the lane for the total possession. Even have heard a Referee tell a coach that he was not going to call a 3-sec lane violation that game! Is this just an Eastern Region thing or statewide? Maybe that question will be answered during these teams playing in the on going All A tournment!
