January 22, 201313 yr My opinion isn't different. I think Hurtt was dirty at Miami and deserves the show cause that he's going to receive. I think they had a culture of non-compliance across their major revenue sports. I don't think the situation is true at Louisville, and Strong deserves the benefit of the doubt seeing as I've never heard a word about him having any problems. If Strong had a compliance problematic past, then I think it would invite further scrutiny.Dirty at the U means also dirty at the Ville!!!!
January 22, 201313 yr Also worth noting that Bridgewater was a Miami commit before changing to Louisville. Like I said, most likely nothing went on with TB, but we should certainly lay out all of the facts.
January 23, 201313 yr Hopefully the NCAA goes after the coaches in the middle of the situation. UM cleaned house and has self imposed it's own ban bowl for two seasons and I always hate to see current players penalized for something they and the current staff had nothing to do with.
January 23, 201313 yr I doubt it's the case, but wonder if this had anything to do with Derrick Calloway flipping his commit to USF last weekend? If so, could others defect?
January 23, 201313 yr I doubt it's the case, but wonder if this had anything to do with Derrick Calloway flipping his commit to USF last weekend? If so, could others defect? Maybe, but the very next day Louisville flipped a kid from Ole Miss, so who knows what people are thinking.
January 23, 201313 yr Dirty at the U means also dirty at the Ville!!!! But you don't understand, when he came to Louisville he stopped cheating.
January 23, 201313 yr Maybe, but the very next day Louisville flipped a kid from Ole Miss, so who knows what people are thinking.I was thinking more of the defensive line recruits, since Hurtt is the DL coach and Calloway is a DT prospect. But, you are right, from what we've witnessed this off season thus far with all the flipping, who knows?
January 23, 201313 yr I doubt it's the case, but wonder if this had anything to do with Derrick Calloway flipping his commit to USF last weekend? If so, could others defect? Calloway flipped because it was too cold. True story.
January 23, 201313 yr Calloway flipped because it was too cold. True story. Yeah that's hilarious too. It seems like a story set up because he wanted another reason, but hearing from others here for the visit that he wouldn't shut up the whole time about how cold it was -- and it was during the warmest January weekend I can ever remember -- is hilarious.
January 23, 201313 yr Breaking Now: The NCAA has uncovered "a very severe issue of improper conduct" within its own enforcement staff. They're holding off on any further investigation of Miami until an internal investigation into this misconduct has been handled.
January 23, 201313 yr @EricCrawford: "Emmert confirms that NCAA enforcement officials worked with Nevin Shapiro's attorney to improperly subpoena and depose witnesses."
January 23, 201313 yr This might deserve its own thread. Emmert has said that Nevin Shapiro's attorney was on the NCAA payroll.
January 23, 201313 yr NCAA Announces Miami Investigation Problems Link to an early article. Emmert says "it's too early to tell" whether this will affect any planned sanctions for Miami but admits "This is obviously a shocking affair."
