Hicks hit 8 three's against Wolfe he is one of the best, better than Gilbert but, it was not meant for Hazard to win. I think he had 35 points.

Gilbert scores, passes (more now that he has more help), rebounds (i'm guessing but around 10 a game at least) & draws the #1 offensive player from the opposing team (either the point or center, he guards all).

NO! I think Gilbert is the best without question but that was a summary of what people have stated & there opinions. Those were all mentioned as "the best" so that would be a good start for a top 10 but most vote with their loyalty to their home school.

 

 

Bailey is the best all around player in the Region playing on the best team in the Region. He makes big plays at crucial times. But I guess you are one of those players who would want to score 30 points a game and your team lose than have balanced team scoring and your team win. I think Gilbert is great but Bailey does what it takes to win ball games and that is what matters most :fire:

Read my last post. Gilbert can score, pass, rebound & play defense. If he were on PCC, he would be ranked even higher on the state charts. He was tripled teamed nightly & had to work hard since he was the only scoring option (wearing down & sometimes taking less than high % shots). Things should change now that Stamper can help with the scoring load & he can only be double teamed instead of triple teamed.

I have watched him play several times,to say that he is a good defender is a stretch,and a good passer???If he was on PCC's team he would average a lot less,and the same for Bailey,if he was on a 3-12 team he would average a lot more!

I agree Uk4Life If Gilbert was on other teams he would be doing better. Maybe not scoring as many but the rest of his stats would be higher. And the best palyer on the best team in the region doesnt make that player the best player. His team is what makes him as good as he is. A team can help make a player but making a team on your own is a much harder task. But I dont think we need to woory about that anymore. Gilbert has some help and the Wolves are starting to play.

KF & MW- Gilbert is very talented & with his skills & athleticism could possibly make it to D-1 (mid to lower level). His size doesnt hurt either. He's seems to be a good kid but his attitude might be a question mark. I've only seen him play a few times & i've questioned some of his actions & behavior. I might be completely off base but if i were a recruiter, this would be my biggest concern.

I have to be almost every game this year and I will admit that he sometimes seemed awkward or angry on the court but I believe most of that was out of frustration. Being use to winning and then being on a team that is 2 and 11 to start the season has to be hard for anyone to swallow.

I could get a sense of that & was hoping it was just frustration. He's a really talented kid but with "character issues" being at an all time high, it was a concern. I'm sure after talking to him, one would change their minds.

yes you are correct, Gilbert tries to set a good eaxmple for the kids in our area. He knows he losses his head sometimes and has been working hard to stay mentally tough and do a better job.

I understand he is a good kid and a decent student. Hopefully it is just frustration that you have seen. He is also very entusiastic and outgoing which may lead someone to believe there might be an attitude problem. I don't think there is any problems there. If there was fantasy basketball in the 14th I would draft him first and he would be my franchise.

For now I would have to say Bailey is the best player I have seen in the 14th, however I have not watched Gilbert. I plan on watching him tonight against Buckhorn in the all a.

Good call KF. He is very enthusiastic about the game, he always loves to get the crowd into it. But that isn't an attitude problem, which is what a Hazard fan made it out o be callign him arrogant and cocky when really he just seemed to be into the game and having fun. Isn't that what basketball is about?

Sometime people seem to think that the "cocky" is when he gets his fans into the game. When these young players do that I love it because makes me want to stand up and get into it also. He carries his team on emoition and heart. Fans can sometimes seem to help have an influence on big games or any game. A lot of times players need lifted up by some loud chanting and heckling. Well sometimes Fans need cheered on by players to know they are appreciated. Everyone loves a packed house and noone sitting down. A team will always win more games with a larger crowd(all UK fans know that).
