RGIII: Partially torn ligaments

Featured Replies

They had a doctor on Mike & Mike this morning and I believe that he said 2/3 of NFL players who have an ACL tear never play again. This will be RG3's second surgery, things are not looking good. AP is a definitely the exception and not the rule.

However, I believe the same doctor is doing the surgery.

The Dr. on Mike & Mike this morning said it was crazy to think he'll be able to come back to where he was pre-injury. Said the ligaments don't get stronger, or even back to their original state, and that it's a myth when people say they do.

I'd cry if I tore my again and it's not my career. Can't imagine how RG3 feels.

Again, RGIII wanted to be out there. Why is this on Shanahan? When Cutler said he couldn't go and took himself out of the game we ripped Cutler. RGIII keeps telling his coach he is fine and keeps going out there and now it's Shanahan's fault? Whatever.

I agree with you on this. The coach has to trust his player when asking about an injury.

So Shanahan is a doctor and when his star QB says he's fine he is supposed to know how serious it is?

Yes Shanahan should, KY Head Coaches have to be able to make "Doctor Like" decisions now, why cant an NFL Coach?

Hello are we forgetting that Washington drafted 2 QB's last year, just in case for this very reason, they knew what the risk were with RGIII.

Because they are all getting paid to perform. Ky head coaches are looking out for kids and their welfare. The NFL is grown men that are all getting paid. Apples to oranges in my book.

To me the Redskins should take some fault for the condition of the field. That was an embarrassment to all involved and even the viewing public.

Terrell Thomas for the Giants just tore his for the 2nd or 3rd time at the beginning of this season. It was the 2nd time in two seasons he's torn a knee ligament. I would say his career is over. RGIII has a shot and will try to come back. I just hope that he doesn't tear it again. He's a great talent and even though he's a Redskin I'd hate to see his career be shortened like this.

They also traded away several draft picks for RGIII.

In today's world with medicine/technology/rehab an ACL is an 18 month recovery. RG3 will be back before then and 100% after that. Could he tear it again... sure but I dont think his career is over right now.
