Bryan Station 73 Henry Clay 62

I got this final from the BGP/KHSAA/Riherds Basketball Scoreboard.

'Station just took it to HC, no other way to describe it. I think 25 was the biggest margin.

HC mounted a rally once Dunaway got on track, but it was too late by that point.

Last night the game was never in question, Bryan Station dominated. It looked like they emptied their bench towards the end.

Bryan Station is a good team, I enjoyed watching them and enjoyed watching some of their fans. They have a good following and some good people there!

Bryan Station is the real deal. They are a excellent shooting team. They blew henry Clay out. Once they put their bench in Dunaway stayed in to keep things close.

The benches were emptied with 32 seconds and Henry Clay had only 9 players dressed so somebody had to stay in the game.

Make no mistake, Bryan Station can beat anyone in the state if the come ready to play. However Henry Clay was severely undermanned last night. That just goes to show how competitive the 11th region is.

Did anybody else think dunaway should have got MVP of that game?

I think he took way too many shots and didn't pass the ball to people Cutting hard to the rim

Henry Clay has had a difficult time this year with the quick teams which comes as a surprise to me.

Actually, this score begs the question, is anyone in Lexington (please no UK jokes) any good?

They have alot of balance but imo no team is in the top 7-8 in state.

They were 0-18 on 3 pt's Friday night vs. Scott County.

Henry Clay didn't shoot well and just flat out got outhustled. I'm not real impressed with the Devils and I've seen them 4 times. Its still early so who knows.

This is just another example of how difficult it is to be thought of as an elite team when you play a very difficult schedule. Outside of the 7th and 11th regions, and to some extent the 6th, no region has more than 2-3 teams who are top 20 teams at any given time. This means that teams in these regions have several games against teams who are not by any means in the top 20 in the state, or so-called "gimme" games. Ranking teams in this region basically consists of taking their sample of 5-6 games against very strong teams, and evalutain the results. If this team is well-coached and motivated for these games, they will be ranked highly, and not penalized for playing less than their best against lesser teams and getting close wins. However, playing a schedule of 10-12 strong teams means more chances to be penalized if you have an off game.

Rankings are pretty meaningless, then, since all teams have a different sample of games to evaluate. Who's to say that Henry Clay's loss to Bryan Station wasn't a better performance than Team A's 6 point win over a 2-10 teams?

No I didnt think Dunaway should have got M.V.P. I thought Minnifield should have got it.He was all over the place and had 2 impressive blocks and him 5'10" at best. Most of Dunaways points came after the game was decided.
