You may not of seen it, but it absolutely happened. The male coach yelled across the floor to a fan and told him to shut up. You can't make that up! And why would we??

 

I agree that fans should not yell at the coaches. But here is what I saw. I saw the BC staff constantly questioning calls and pulling shenanigans in what appeared to an attempt to see how much they could get away with. It wasn't one call, it was several. Heck, even in this post there are two to three different opinions on "which" play they were arguing. (The time out call, Incorrect player on the foul, etc) That's because it was the whole game. Eventually a highlands fan yelled something to the effect of "sit her down! You don't have to take that! It's rediculous!" In which the male BC coach replied with "shut up!" From across the court. That's what happened!

 

I am a highlands fan and could agree both were wrong, but please don't defend BC coaches and act like it didn't happen. It's really getting out of proportion on here, but it wasn't a classy act from a coach.

 

Heck, everyone is assuming it was a HHS fan that said it. Are we sure it just wasn't someone else that was fed up with the shenanigans? There were tons of CCHS fans that were there by the time this happened.

In my opinion Boone County lacks discipline is almost all areas, the sports teams, the cheer squads, the teachers, etc. I know the Boone Principal reads BGP on occasion and I would tell him the same thing if he asked my opinion.

 

In short, pretty much everyone does whatever they want to do at Boone with little or no consequences.

 

Is this solely a Boone County HS issue? Or does it extend to entire Boone County BOE? My experience is that it's not isolated to one school!!

You're right. I can't say that I haven't regretted saying things before...as a spectator. I've heard the same thing this spectator say come out of fans mouths hundreds of times!

 

As a coach, I really do make a very conscience effort not to regret ANYTHING I say. I have never addressed a fan base. Trust me, AAU gets as heated as anywhere. It would be very easy to lose control in an AAU environment that is much less tame than a high school game!

She is a reckless rebounder for her size! I just hope her little body can handle all the punishment! Thanks for the compliment on Haley.

In the Boone Cty/Conner game Nell was yelling "Call the foul, Call the foul". so the referee did. He called a technical on Nell..lol

I'll add Ryle to the list, having had personal experience there. I know of others having had issues at Conner & Ockerman, but none personally. Pattern appears to be a BOE issue, IMO.

Me too. I think they called the foul on the shot but gave the incorrect player number when reporting. BC was saying that if the foul was on the number they reported then it was not on the shot, HHS shouldn't be shooting and was it called before the made 3? The refs clearly made the mistake of originally calling the incorrect number, but there was really no question where the foul was called.

Guru you must have some great inside info on how bad Boone county hs is. You mind sharing with us why the school sucks so bad? From what I heard their EOC scores last year in Chemistry and Social Studies were in the top 10 in the state. And from what I remember they had the teacher of the year in the state of Ky last year. In the past 3 years they have won region in boys basketball, soccer, football and baseball and girls basketball. With your inside info you would also know that Boone's main feeder school is RA Jones and they were around a 40 on their test scores but when those same kids were tested at Boone a couple years later they were in the upper 70's to low 80's. A jump of 40 points, where as the other 3 Boone hs had kids coming in scoring in the 80's and only went up a couple points on their test scores. And actually down in one Boone co hs. But I am sure you have more info on why the schools is so bad. Please share with us. I am just a parent in Boone co and I want to make sure I never send my children to a school like Boone co hs.

Most all of the things I would point out would be against the rules here but I know a lot more than you think.

 

Without going into a long-winded explanation Boone County is like a lot of public schools in that many of their successes can be directly attributed to happenstance.

 

With all that said, I am not saying there are not a lot of good students, good teachers and some good coaches. What I am saying is there is far too little discipline at Boone in several areas.
