Maybe gametime could break into radio broadcasts too, so other local teams could get radio airtime!

He was young and nieve back then! He received his props for that production and has moved on to more incentive-laiden assignments now!

It was nice to be able to listen to the game again on the web last night. CCH has a nice website, and the archives of their broadcasts are very cool. However, the CCH bias is way too thick.

 

The broadcasters have nice energy and are very articulate, but they don't take much time learning the names of the opposing team. For example, they didn't even know how to say Muzzillo's name. Frequently they don't even bother to say who the Dixie player is... they simply say Dixie makes the shot, or Dixie gets the rebound.

 

Bishop Brossart does a nice job with their website and broadcasts as well. But they are not so biased.

 

I guess it parallels the cheering section's attitude. Cheers like "We are Awesome" and "You are Jealous" speak volumes. But, I still have to wonder why they get such a kick out of proclaiming "We are Gay" :creepy:

 

All in all, you have to tip your hat to the Blue Colonels. They invest a lot of effort and pride into their sports programs. But, the pompousness leaves you wondering whether to love them or despise them. I guess that's what makes for good rivalries, eh? :thumb:

BTW the "gay cheer" that the CovCath students have been hearing since time began, is weak. I have always wondered why the other side of the gym does it, when there is usually more than two hundred or so rather fine looking NDA girls sitting right next to the guys waiting for the game to be over to socialize..... I really think that the NDA girls when the other team does there usual "You are Gay" chant, should cheer back yelling, we don't think so and rush over to the CovCath guys and give them a hug and a kiss.... opps the good Sisters of NDA wouldn't like that at all, nor would the Dads of the NDA girls sitting on the parents side of the CovCath gym. :laugh: :laugh:

An idea for Dixie folks: Your boys busted their hump and played an outstanding game with great effort and strong execution. They had CCH on the ropes early (up 11 in the first qtr) and hardly missed a shot in the first qtr. They could have folded up the tent down 10 with less than 2 minutes left in the game YET they didn't quit and had a chance to tie it up at the buzzer. Why am I the one who has to give them some love and credit?

 

Support your boys and quit worrying about the 'bias' of a CCH broadcast(shocking) and the student section.

I would imagine that the coaching staff knew this going into the game. Why not set up a gameplan to prepare for that?

 

Its a two-sided debate. On the one hand, your big guys are at a disadvantage defensively due to lack of quickness. On the other, they have they offensive advantage. I'm guessing you see which team takes the advantage. Last night, Dixie took their advantage early and CCH adjusted.

Coach L continues to confuse me with his wacky subbing. In a game where Young and Schult should have gotten an oppurtunity to score down low, they barely play. Listerman continues to change his gameplan rather than force the other team to adapt to his. I'm not sure of what the rebounding total was on the game, but there was a stretch from the middle of the 3rd to the beggining of the 4th wear CovCath couldn't get a rebound and, luckily, Dixie wasn't on fire like in the 1st half. Regardless of the lack of scoring that they do, Young and Schult need to be on the floor in order for CovCath to beat Holmes, Highlands, or even a team like NCC. With 4 guards and two taller perimeter players they won't make it out of this region.

You're not thinking clearly, CCH. If you watched the game, you noticed that Dixie got the ball to Lawson on the wing. Schult gave his best effort to guard him but simply does not have the footspeed and lateral quickness to guard a top-notch wing player like Lawson. Lawson got off to a very quick start which helped Dixie jump to a big lead. If he didn't sub for him, Lawson was on his way to a 40 pt game. Add in that there has not been a lot of scoring in the post and that CCH is a guard-dominated offense and it made perfect sense to me.

 

Holmes could very well present the exact same problem. Henderson is a forward and he's only about 6 feet tall and very quick. Rice is very quick. They present mismatch problems to traditional power forwards and centers.

I can they have a brutal schedule and they have lost a lot since last year. Still a team to be reckoned with.
