Cincinnati New Coach

Anyone upset with Butch Jones for moving on does not want Willie Taggart to come here. If he were to leave his alma mater after 3 years to come here, he would certainly jump from UC at the first move up he was offered.

I've always been under the impression that Taggart wanted to stay south (end game being the state of Florida). Don't see him as a fit at UC.

I am not sure why everyone gets so concerned about their coach moving up or using a school as a stepping stone job. If Taggart is successful (which he has been) who at WKU could blame him for moving up. I am sure while disapointed, the people at UC are happy their program is in good enough position that traditional powers such as Notre Dame and UT come knocking on the door to get the coach.

I hope for UK's sake that Ohio St or Oklahoma or Florida St would come knocking on Stoops door in 3-5 years were they to have openings... this just means he has UK winning again. The alternative is to have to fire your coach for not getting the job done (see Joker, Elson, Kragthorpe).

This!

This!

It was a desperate move for UT. They certainly weren't knocking down the door to get him.

The desperation from you UT was believing they could get Gruden etc...

That's true but it's not like Butch was plan A or B.

Of the realistic options he was behind Strong and maybe Fedora...

An excellent choice. :thumb: :thumb: :notworthy: :notworthy:

I am pretty sure Richard Dickman and the Covington Catholic Alumni Association would help fund the contract.

Jim Tressel as head coach and Coombs as D Coordinator. After about 3-5 years Coombs gets the job. That is what i would do. The number one goal should be stability and to get the fan base on board

We will host the going away party at the new alumni center.
