Christmas Vacation for me.

Christmas Vacation and its not even close.

For those of you voting for Vacation, I'll be fair. I just watched it the other night, but I will most certainly watch it again on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day during its 24-hour marathon...just to see if I'm missing why it would be considered better.

A Christmas Story, hands down. It's definitely a classic.

 

Sorry, but all of the Vacation movies are just kind of repulsive.

My dad put (and still puts) that many lights on his house. We would sing Christmas carols in the car. We would have big family reunions where all kinds of crazy stuff would happen. My dad even looks a little bit like Chevy Chase.

When my brother bought an RV this year I about fell out of my chair thinking of cousin Eddie comparisons.

A Christmas Story is my abosolute favorite holiday movie. I quote it at least 3 times a day during this time of year. I do not know how many times I have told my students to be careful or "you'll shoot your eye out".

I love when Ralphie is in line waiting on Santa and that kid keeps talking to him and Ralphie is trying to blow him off with the 'act like you've been there' attitude and watching Randy stare at the kid and Ralphie. :lol:

I also love when the mom runs back in the house to turn off the lamp to 'save electricity' but the whole house was lit up. :lol: :lol:

You better not. It's stupid. I don't know what I was thinking when I said it's better than A Christmas Story.

Papa touched on the subtlety of my outstanding performance. Much of that has to do with my expression-less stares throughout the film. The scene you mention here, along with the one at the beginning, when the old man is battling the furnace...my emotionless expressions are fantastic.

 

I also have a very underrated laugh. There are three primary scenes where my laugh really does steal the show. Obviously there is the mommy's little piggy scene. Also, there is the Jingle Bells scene right when the song is over. Finally when Ralphie comes down the stairs in his deranged Easter Bunny/pink nightmare outfit I have an outstanding laugh.

You better not. It's stupid. I don't know what I was thinking when I said it's better than A Christmas Story.
