Being at different stadiums for collegiate games before, I would have to say that holding the state title games at WKU is an awesome experience. This coming from a person who had to drive 4 hours to get to the games this weekend, but I still say it's the best place to hold this event. You are close enough to the field to watch the games and the sounds are incredible. I just love the set up at WKU, excpet for the locker room setup for the teams, as for the fans, it's a great enviroment.

I have not been to my alma mater since the very late 80's. Have they significantly improved the Visitors Side because it used to be very small and just aluminum bleachers.

Yes, they have replaced the visitor side with new bleachers that are larger. The home side still looks the same with large home seating.

ACS got the momentum at the very end of the game. Boyle dominated the 3rd and early 4th Quarter to take a 21-7 lead late. ACS cut it to 7 with a big play and then the Rebels held the ball till the last minute or so.

 

Either way, the ACS crowd was outstanding.

Do we really need a stadium that seats 65-70,000 to watch a high school football game? Also in the Southwest part of the State? Toppers did an excellent job as playing host, I just staying that the travel time for most teams is out of the question. Did anyone ask about Georgetown College, right in the middle of the state.

According to Wikipedia Toyota Stadium at Georgetown College has a capacity of 5,000. Seeing as the attendance in all 6 championship games eclipsed that mark, I very much doubt that you will see the KHSAA consider that as a possible venue.

FWIW, 2 yrs ago Highlands fans were told to leave by WKY staff and this yr they were asked to leave.

 

Finally, they get it. Still would like for everyone and anyone should be allowed on the field after the game for photo ops and congrats meetings.

That part, they still just dont get...

I agree about people should be allowed to take pics etc. on the field after the games, but I also understand why they don't allow it or want people to leave. That is because after the game people need to remember there are two other teams and fans trying to get into the stadium to get ready for their game. I know we had to wait for awhile before we were allowed to enter the stadium after the game preceding ours was over.

Understand what you are sayin about the early games but not the last game.

Besides, how hard would it be to designate an are in one of the endzones after the game to meet and greet.

This is just common sense simple stuff here people, just elementary stuff. JMO

I for one actually like the fact that parents/friends are not allowed on the field after the game, it gives the players who have put in so much time and effort together a chance to celebrate amongst themselves and coming over to the winning side's crowd after the game is kinda cool.

I think Bowling Green as a city fits very well as far as being able to accommodate an influx of people coming into the city at once. IF the games were moved to Murray where would people stay? I'm not as sure of Richmond or Georgetown, so I'll let others address the issue.

NOPE...totally disagree and so would the Highlands alum and players.

There is no better feeling and experience then to meet and greet after a Highlands game at DCM.

Nobody does it better and since Highlands has made WKY their 15th home game they should be allowed to do what they want. LOL.

They lost by 7. I thought it was a madhouse when ACS got the momentum going in the 4th quarter.
