Would it help if they changed there name to the University of Southern Ohio... :D

Number one college sports town in America isn't Cincinnati.

UC athletics doesn't bring in the most revenue in America.

Nope, you'd have to look about 100 miles down river to find that magical place.

Not overly familiar with UC, but what do they really bring to the ACC table?

All of which means little to nothing in the ACC decision. It does make UL fans feel good about themselves, so you do have that going for you. What you have going against you is a very poor academic reputation that is keeping UL one vote short of getting the ACC invite at the moment...

It is almost incredulous to believe anyone would base a college football decision on academics in this era of rampant money grubbing. Who is kidding whom? I am not disputing your information---just saying it's an untenable position.

Duke, UNC, Wake Forest and Virginia consider themselves elite academic institutions. They consider a school like UL unworthy of being in a conference with them. That is why they voted against adding them so far. It is the reality of the situation...

Poor academic reputation for athletes, or poor academic reputation as a university? It couldn't be the latter.

OK since you would give me Cliff Notes I read it.

The biggest gain I see for ACC is Ohio as a new area, UC doesn't seem to bring anything to ACC they don't already have.

If UL is just one vote short and it is because of academics, UC should be an automatic SlamDunk invite.

Is there something holding up an UC invite similar to the UL issue?

Not being a smart (you know what) don't really know.

It is most certainly the latter. They aren't a factor as a public research institution, have low entrance requirements and a small endowment. They simply are not on the level of Cincinnati in the areas considered to be important by the academic snobs of the ACC. You can dislike it all you want, but that is why UConn is even a factor at all...

The faction of the ACC really pushing for UL knows the conference solvency as a football player needs a program all in on gridiron success. That is why there is a strong feeling that if UConn is added first schools like FSU and Clemson will be sprinting to a new home. UL has a huge budget, a growing national reputation and a much larger core fan base that UC.

At this point UC is selling hard on being the compromise to UL on the football side and UConn on the academic side. I still think UL ends up getting in first, but it is a very interesting selling point by the UC brass as a school that provides what both sides are looking for...

It's the school in general U of L is 168 Cincy is 135 and UCONN is 65 the lowest current in tHE ACC Is nc state at 68. This is the reason that they both have to do a lot to get there.

Well it looks like Florida State, Clemson, NC State and the rest need to tell Duke, Wake and UNC to get their heads out of their butts and vote UofL in. Apparently we were one vote shy of acceptance.
