I do blame them for buying into the fear ESPN was selling. You don't see the problem with a TV network and their money controlling the sport???

 

Not trying to be smart GT, but if Cincinnati were one of the haves in conference realignment, like West Virginia, Syracuse, Pitt, and/or Rutgers, would the complaints about the demise of the Big East be as loud? Are Cincinnati (and Louisville, and South Florida, etc.) folks upset about the Big East breaking apart or are they upset about potentially not having a chair when the music stops?

I think what this is doing to college sports stinks regardless of where UC ends up.

 

And let's revisit calling WVU, Pitt and Syracuse "haves" in this in a few years. They panicked and went to situations that will likely devalue their brand long term for a cash grab short term.

 

That is less of a concern for UC and UL because they have bounced around so much to begin with trying to climb the ladder. There is no established brand for either and rebranding has always been reality for both...

Right. I wasn't clear I guess. I quoted Clyde but really just wanted to jump into the Clyde-GT exchange regarding certain school presidents colluding with ESPN to enrich themselves at the expense of the other members of their conference.
