Final

The Breds are playing very solid football on offense, defense, and speccial teams. I dont think anyone wants to play NewCath at the moment. Nice year for WV, truly are a solid up and coming program.

The tone for this game was set on the opening kickoff, when NewCath freshman Jacob Smith returns it 80-90 yards (wasn't sure were he was when he caught it) for the TD. WV had a couple of nice goal line stands preventing the Breds from adding to the score. Brady Thacker was a "BEAST" on defense tonight, he was all over the field making plays. He hit the WV QB on one play where you would have sworn that the poor QB was dead, it was that scary. The Mosier kid for Walton-Verona is the real deal, for his size he can move and is in on every play. CONGRATS to Walton-Verona, for a program only in it's 5th year they are truly moving in the right direction.

Not surprised and anyone that was has too much fanhood. Congrats to Barty and the players of the young program. More of these two teams playing to come.

Nice job to the Thoroughbreds. I think they have to be the favorites to win 2a.

He is. Nice job by #71 Mosier. He has played two games now with torn right knee. True warrior who went out fighting!

Congratulations to the Bearcats on a season to be proud of. Another step forward. But tonight the Bearcats saw what it is going to take to get to the next level. Keep working because that is the only way you get over the top.

The Breds are just rolling. I was very impressed with them versus Beechwood. Thacker is great anchoring the defense. It is going to take a very good team playing their best game to beat New Cath.

Congratulations to the Breds! As a Bearcat fan with lots of fanhood, I was believing and pulling for a Bearcat victory! That didn't happen...no shame in that. As I said to another Bearcat fan last night and to some NC folks...I'll be rooting for the Breds to bring the State Champ hardware to NKY.

Still proud of WV! To be in the regional final in only the 5th season of football is an amazing accomplishment. The Bearcats will be back!

Bearcat fans have every right to be proud of their season. They have accomplished very much in just 5 seasons and I expect even more from them in the future.

Josh Cain has been a silent leader of this NewCath team. The young man had another QB come to school in spring talking how he was going to be the man and Cain proved he was better during the off season and won his spot. He never backed down from the challenge. He leads the Breds offense down the field calm and steady. The young man has been through a lot during the off season and early this season vs larger schools and never quit. Josh has proven to be a far better QB and a great leader for the Breds. This young man seems to not get as much credit as he should with so many talented players on the team. Keep the boys rolling Josh!!
