They are pretty limited as far as shooters but scoring was never the problem in NY, it was defense. The Lakers team has a huge advantage over those NY teams. Howard and Amare aren't even on the same planet. Amare couldn't guard a Teletubby while Dwight is one of the best defenders in the league. Nash is a liability on D but it makes it really nice to have Dwight and even Gasol back to protect the rim.

I'm not convinced Howard isn't damaged goods. We will see though, hope it works because I like D'Antoni a lot.

Glad to see this. Phil wanted to jump back in the action when all the talent was in place. Let him go coach Cleveland so we can all see what a "genius" he is.

Problem they face with D'Antoni is that he just had surgery and isn't cleared to even fly yet. They say it could be another week before he even joins the team. Seems Phil was trying to see how much the Lakers would bend before they broke and with a new owner who wanted to move past you in the first place, it cost him this job. I doubt he's upset, he's probably perfectly happy in Colorado or Washington.

I can't believe Carter Pewterschmidt got the job.

 

 

I like how they look so far. I can't wait until D'Antoni is actually on the bench. His pick and roll offense has them scoring points now though.

They sure looked good last night. Scary to think they don't even have Nash back yet and they can beat a solid team like that with Jamison and Meeks leading the way. If they can continue to get that kind of production out of guys not named Kobe, Howard, Gasol, and Nash when he gets back this team will be dangerous. I think Meeks and Jamison are going to benefit more than anyone in this new offense, well other than Nash and Kobe of course.
