Some of you people spend too much time loving your mountain football, 28-17 Yellow Jackets. Bell hasn't seen a defense like this all year and those players will step off the bus expecting to win and will relish playing in that environment. I hope the win over Station isn't giving you people false confidence.

If Taeshaun Gibbs plays for Central, the Jackets should win. If he doesn't play (and I believe he missed most of the Wayne County game), Bell County has a real chance. Central's linebackers, however, are absolute beasts who can make getting a first down a very difficult proposition. Does Bell County have an answer to the speed of Central? If so, Bell County will win a very close game (again assuming that Gibbs is out).

You are right it was 2007. Still none of these players have ever been to the Mtns of Eastern Ky. It will be a culture shock for them.

 

YOu have that right. They are a very good squad. have no problem with taking on the 6a Boys in Louisville and more than holding their own. One has to wonder what effect that atomsphere will have on them. I am reasonably sure that most of the C players ( or any Lou. team for that matter) - will really know what to expect.

Who won the game? You still don't understand about sports do you. Bell County had as many yards as Central last year and didn't score any points. If you take away Wales lont td in the 4th would have. Or if you give Bell the lond td that was called back because of the penalty would have had more. I guess that Bell was the better team then.:confused:

 

I'd say i understand football/ just fine. In sports sometimes the better team doesn't always win. Much how you feel about the Bell-Central game last year, I feel about the Wayne-Bell game this year. Its ok though. You will find out soon enough.

I'm picking Bell County for one reason ... the long road trip, especially since Central traditonally doesn't travel well too far out of town. And Bell is definitely the #2 team in Class 3A. I think they're the only team with a significant chance to knock off Central.

You watch the game? Wayne gave the game away before it even started. Wayne had more yards, more trips to the redzone and played with their qb at about 60%. Who else had held Bell under 150 yards total offense for the game?

 

Wayne Co's run defense was better than Bell Co.'s in my opinion. Not sure what ratio of run/pass that is the norm for Central, but I believe they can move the ball on the ground against the Bell Co. defense.

I just saw an interesting tweet from Louisville Central. At 3:00 they tweeted that they had just arrived at Union College for a walk-through. I assume they'll head on down to Bell County shortly thereafter. Really smart move by the coach to get the kids there early, get their feet under them, and get the blood flowing. The trip on the Bell County will only take 20-30 minutes from Barbourville, which should be like any regular road game.

 

Also, smart move by Union College to allow it. Might introduce some of the Central kids to the campus, which could help in recruiting.
