Yeah...I don't think you understood the post.

I didn't say Ron Paul would solve the white problem. I said his ideas will perpetuate people of every age and race to join the GOP and it 'stems from his ideas.' He was the only candidate who consistently had this type of diversity among the GOP candidates at their events. I went on to say there is one candidate listed that shares that same philosophy.

When I said 'take a page,' it was in reference to the ideology bit. Thought that was pretty black and white.

I feel like Rand carries on those ideas. If we want more latinos and blacks in the party, make it come from the message -- not the messenger.

Rand caught hit his first day after election for statements about affirmative action. Seems like he'd face the same problem out of the gate as his daddy.

If you want a messenger, then look no further than Gary Johnson, who was/is a Republican himself...

I'm for Gary Johnson

Don't want another Bush.

To the latter half of your statement, you have nothing to back that up. You assume that your candidates lost because they were moderate. The republicans put up moderates, then expected them to push to the more conservative side. Moderate and independent voters have been key in the last elections and they weren't sold on the move to the more conservative side of the table. Additionally, when has the more personable candidate not won the election, R or D?

Moderate and Independent voters went to Romney by a five point margin -- apparently they were sold but it didn't matter.

While the GOP putting up moderates isn't the sole reason for their losses, it certainly played a big factor along with how unappealing their candidates were. External factors include the democrats being simply better in terms of getting people out to vote and appealing to a younger base.

I hope that the R's don't put up Rand Paul as their candidate. I'd like to have more than one candidate to choose from.

I would still like to hear the reasoning in regards to how he would be a bad messenger. Is it his message?

I want someone who is going to fight for the reformation of our economic structure. You have to at least understand what the federal reserve is and what it does to our economy if I choose you to be my messenger. I listened to him on the Robert Wenzel show -- who I don't like -- and I was embarrassed for Gary.

Also, he sucks on war.

Rubio or Christie....Although it's not going to matter. After last night's results, I'm fairly confident our country has shifted far too much for any current "Republican" to have even a fighter's chance.

Too many people that are relying on the Government to take care of them.

Agreed, and immigrants used to come to the country and tried to assimilate. It seems anymore they do not want to assimilate, and the country is supposed to bend around them. I don't believe any group should be discriminated against, but add all the groups we classify as minorities now, and you have a pretty big voting block.

Really? So "in the good old days" there were no "Chinatowns" or other ethnic neighborhoods where the language of the motherland was primarily spoken?

Research shows that in most cases, first generation immigrants tend to speak primarily (sometimes only) their native language. Second generations tend to be bilingual. Third generations tend to be assimilated linguistically. A great many, however, retain the culture of their native lands for many generations.

I'll take who is Donald Trump for $1,000, Alex.

Isn't Ben Carson gaining ground?

Yes, seems like he's gained something like ten points recently.

Bobby Jindal had some thoughts about Trump today....

"Donald Trump is not a serious candidate. He’s a narcissist. He’s an egomaniac. The only thing he believes in is himself. I want to say what everybody is thinking about Donald Trump, but is afraid to say,” Jindal said. “Like all narcissists, Donald Trump is insecure and weak. … We know that only a very weak and small person needs to constantly tell us how strong and powerful they are.”

Jindal added: “Donald Trump has never read the Bible. The reason we know he has not read the Bible is that he’s not in the Bible.”

Great line about reading the Bible.

With the Jindal and Fiorina attacks on Trump recently, it makes me wonder if they aren't angling for potential positions with whomever ends up as the Republican nominee.

Something along the lines of "we'll do the dirty work and go on the offensive against him and allow you to stay above the fray. In return we get a position of some sort (in Fiorina's case, possibly VP?)"...:idunno:

I think there is some validity to that point...they aren't going to win anyway.

Talk about straight talk!

Fiorina's been angling for that role long before Trump became the front-runner. She's the logical anti-Hillary VP nominee and is all over it.

Others who start in on him are more interesting. Everybody can't be promised a cabinet job, but they can all curry favor with the RNC for future deals.
