May sound like a ridiculous question but will there be riots if Romney loses the election.

 

I have saw several stories on the web about possible riots if the President loses the election. So conversely if Romney loses will there also be riots across America?

 

I know in 1860 after the Republican Abraham Lincoln won the election there was a riot or something (for the next 5 years), but has there been other riots after a presidential election in the last 150 years.

I haven't seen anything about riots if the President loses. I doubt there will be either way.

I have no doubt tables will be flipped over at the country club. The help will be sweeping up caviar and mopping up the undrank champaign.

If he loses there will in be looting in the streets, I would bet all of the money in my bank account on that one. It may not happen in every city but there will/would be looting and people in the streets. We will know for certain in less than a week.

I hope you are right but there have been several reports to the contrary...maybe your invite to the riot is still in the mail, could be why you've not heard of it yet

I don't understand why anyone would be threatening to riot over this election.

There are several stories out there from different sources, I'll coceed that some of these stories come from right leaning sites but I don't see any from the left stating there would be riots if Romney loses.

I don't know but a couple of the tea party types I'm friends with on facebook have posted a picture tonight talking about a revolution if Obama wins.

The kind that post things like this on facebook.

I agree there are extremist and people unable to have civil discourse with the opposition view on both side of the political spectrum.

There will be riots if Obama loses, it will give those a reason to do a crime. And they will get away with it so we can appease them since it unfair and racist if we try to prosecute them.

You're implying that African Americans will riot if Obama loses...because they inherently want to, but they don't have a reason "to do a crime".

I've read a lot of articles about Romney signs being destroyed, burnt, etc.

 

I don't know if there will be riots, but I bet there will be some property damage, especially on college campuses.

FWIW protesting does not equal rioting...I think there will be protest form both side if their candidate loses. Riots with damage, injuries and vandalism are an entirely different thing however.

This afternoon, a friend an I were discussing this possibility in regard to Obama losing. I think that is possible, but it depends on the closeness of the results. If ROmney loses, I don't think we have anything to worry about...accept maybe a revolution.
