I agree but it gets real difficult for him if not even with Florida. He would have to flip a state that's voted Democratic in all but one presidential election since 1992 which would be Iowa in 04.

No doubt it would be tough, but he's got a shot. I really think Wisconsin is there for the taking. I didn't think adding Rep. Ryan to the ticket would help that much, but it seems to have given him more than a fighter's chance there.

I like Survey USA for accurate polling. They have Obama leading Romney by 3 in Ohio with both candidates gaining voters at an equal pace as the election nears.

 

As to whether Romney can win without winning Ohio, someone add up the electoral votes without Romney winning Ohio and make a case for Romney. I have been saying the past couple weeks that this may be another Bush Gore with the Democrat winning the electoral college this time. It is looking more plausible that happens.

At this point, I'd be very surprised if Gov. Romney doesn't win Virginia and Florida, so let's add those to his total, giving him 248.

 

That leaves 6 states (Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Colorado).

 

Let's assume Ohio goes the way of the POTUS. That makes it 255-248 President Obama. Let's say Gov. Romney's surge in New Hampshire carries him to take the state. It's now 255-252. Let's also assume the tightening race out west delivers Gov. Romney Colorado. That squares it up 261-261 with Iowa and Wisconsin still in play. Win Wisconsin (which is a distinct possibility this year) and we've got a new POTUS.

I saw a segment on Fox News Channel where someone said each side (Dems and Reps) has over 10,000 lawyers ready to do battle over various issues (voter fraud, early voting, voter IDs, etc) which could turn this election into having the equivalent of 6 Floridas with how close this election is supposed to be. I think no one will ever forget November/December 2000, but this could be worse if the reports are right.

My candidate is going to win because I found some polls that show him ahead in the states that matter, which are coincidentally the states that have polls showing my candidate leading.

Thank you. I keep seeing the talking heads saying it is all about Ohio and hadn't seen anyone lay out a winning path for Romney without Ohio. By the way Survey USA has Obama ahead by 2 points in Wisconsin. It is going to be fun on election night.
