Civil liberties, spending/the deficit, über small government, drug policy reform are my big four.

In his time as NM governor Johnson most definitely "walked the walk" on spending. I don't think any other candidate is in the same stratosphere as him there. Was not afraid to veto bills.

I was aware of the drug policy reform, but I didn't know how important it was to you. I think we are a lot alike when it comes to spending/deficit & to some extent small(er) government.

I like Johnson the best out of all the canidates. I would not waste my vote on him though knowing he as no shot..

I hear you, but my thinking is that if we have enough votes for a particular 3rd party candidate, it forces the hand of the two dominating parties to change their platform or can gain steam for an actual 3rd party candidate who can win.

I believe if he gets a certain % of votes that party gets extra funding. I wouldn't call it a waste at all, I'd say it's more useful than voting for the lesser of 2 evils.

It's a colossal waste of money, time, and effort for no result. I also don't believe in locking people away for non-violent drug offenses. Nor do I believe that consenting adults doing no harm to anyone but themselves should be told what to do. Finally, the actual prohibition of drugs does far more damage than the drugs themselves IMO.

I do agree that we are probably similar on those issues you mention.

Exactly. Rome wasn't built in a day (election). Only way to get more candidates is to vote for them. Ballot access is one of the main deterrents and your vote can actually help remedy that.

If you are a KY voter a vote for either of the big two is a FAR greater waste than a 3rd party candidate. I can GUARANTEE that Johnson will be much closer to ballot access in KY than Obama will be to beating Romney.
