You're missing the point. If this sign HAD been put in Ashland and Ashtabula then there's no issue. It's a true PSA. Didn't happen. Not a PSA. Intent is obvious.

You have to ask yourself why the signs were placed on high black and Latino populations. Who do those groups vote for usually? Why just those areas targeted?

It doesn't mean it will work. The effectiveness of it is not being debated. It's the reasoning behind it (good or bad) that is being debated.

Intent is to keep some away who maybe aren't sure what the current laws are and what is needed to vote. You cannot discount the lack of trust in inner city black and Latino communities when it comes to the police.

So they believe that if they produce a valid I.D. and vote one time that they might be violating a law? Sounds like the police is the least of their problems.

My feeling is only a criminal or someone who is not sure if they are a criminal or not would be concerned about that billboard.

No argument on the check cashing issue. IMO it's not relevant to the discussion.

 

There lots of allegations of voter fraud. There are very few if any proven voter fraud issues. The fact that it's constantly repeated doesn't make it true.

So Clyde think it's racist because it was done in predominately black communities.

 

However, if it were done in predominately wealthy white communities, Clyde would have no issue with it....

I don't know about these bill boards, but we need some in Florida where people are being investigated for voting in two states, their home and their second home. It seems Florida does not participate in a national register for checking voter registration.

I've written a post 3 times and deleted them because I can't find a way to NOT come off like a racist butt cracker. It's not my intention but it's tough for me to verbalize.

I'm a world-class cynic. I just don't see how it takes much thought to understand the reasoning behind these billboards.
